The Sensex Index climbed 467.38 or 2.3% to close at 20,882.89 The CNX Nifty jumped 143.50 or 2.4% to close at 6,189.35. For the week, Sensex soared 3%.

Gainers & Losers

Bharti Airtel Limited jumped 2.3% to Rs 356.60 after the company agreed to acquire 100% stake in its subsidiary Wireless Business Services.

Bharat Bijlee Ltd slid 0.3% to Rs 313 after net loss in the second quarter widened to Rs 6.54 crore and sales declined 22.7% to Rs 103.45 crore.

Blue Star Infotech Limited declined 5.6% to Rs 81.45 after net profit in the second quarter plunged 24.8% to Rs 3.06 crore and net sales soared 16.3% to Rs 69.06 crore.

Gujarat Sidhee Cement Limited, reported net in the second quarter swung to a loss Rs 6.17 crore compared to a net profit of Rs 8.77 crore. Sales in the quarter declined 16.1% to Rs 87.74 crore.

Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd plunged 6.4% to Rs 8.56 after net profit surged five-fold to Rs 50.16 crore and Sales in the quarter climbed three-fold to Rs 504.03 crore.

IL&FS Engineering and Construction Company Limited fell 1.7% to Rs 32.10 after the company secured contract worth Rs.150 crore for rural electrification works in Uttar Pradesh.

PVR Limited gained 2.8% to Rs 498.30 after the company agreed to sale its Anupam Multiplex property in New Delhi for Rs 52 crore.

Sabero Organics Gujarat Limited jumped 2.6% Rs 140.65 after net profit in the second quarter surged three-fold to Rs 16.37 crore and net sales soared 57% to Rs 214.20 crore.

SpiceJet Limited jumped 3.4% to Rs 21.35 after Qatar Airways offered to acquire 24% stake.

Saurashtra Cement Limited declined 4.9% to Rs 19.39 after the company reported net in the second quarter swung to a loss Rs 11.09 crore compared to a net profit of Rs 8.35 crore.

Sales in the quarter declined 14.3% to Rs 107.34 crore.

South Indian Bank, Ltd gained 1.4% to Rs 21.10 after net profit in the second quarter climbed 30.5% to Rs 126.75 crore and total revenue jumped 15.4% to Rs 1,237.21 crore.
