AZZ Inc ((AZZ)) tumbled 6.5% or $2.83 to $40.28 after the electrical equipment maker reported revenue in the second-quarter ending in August climbed 24% to $189.8 million. Net income in the quarter increased 3% to $16.4 million or 64 cents diluted earnings per share compared to $15.9 million per share or 62 cents per share.
Accenture Plc ((ACN)) dropped 3.8% or $2.86 to $73.01 after the Ireland-based consulting services provider said revenue in the fourth-quarter ending in August jumped 4% to $7.1 billion. Net income for the quarter climbed 13.5% to $714.9 million or $1.01 diluted earnings per share compared to $630 million per share or 88 cents per share.
For the year 2014, Accenture expects net revenue growth of 2% to 6% in local currency and earnings per share between $4.42 and $4.54.
The company added net revenue for the year grew 3% to $28.6 billion and new bookings increased to $8.4 billion.
BlackBerry Limited ((BBRY)) gained 1.6% or 13 cents to $8.08 after the Canada based smartphone maker reported revenue in the second-quarter ending in August plunged 45% to $1.57 billion. Net loss in the quarter widened to $965 million or $1.84 diluted earnings per share compared to $235 million per share or 45 cents per share.
The Finish Line, Inc ((FINL)) surged 8.8% or $1.96 to $24.36 after the specialty retailer said net sales in the second-quarter ending in August jumped 13% to $436 million. Comparable store sale in the quarter increased 0.9%.
Net income in the quarter advanced 6% to $26.5 million or diluted earnings 54 cents diluted earnings per share compared to $25 million per share or 49 cents per share.
Nike, Inc. ((NIKE)) soared 5.3% or $3.79 to $74.13 after the athletic footwear maker reported revenue in the second-quarter ending in August climbed 8% to $7 billion. Net income in the quarter surged 33% to $780 million or 86 cents diluted earnings per share compared to $567 million per share or 63 cents per share.
Nektar Therapeutics ((NKTR )) tumbled 25.4% or $3.52 to $10.33 after the biopharmaceutical company said phase-2 study trial for NKTR-181, for the chronic pain treatment in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee, failed to produce results that were expected.
Thor Industries, Inc. ((THO)) climbed 3.2% or $1.82 to $58.25 after the recreation vehicles maker reported net sales in the fourth-quarter ending in July jumped 18.7% to $914 million. Net income in the quarter rose 6.4% to $58.2 million or $1.04 diluted earnings per share compared to $44.4 million per share or 77 cents per share.
Vail Resorts, Inc. ((MTN)) rose 30 cents to $69.28 after the ski resort operator stated total revenue in the fourth-quarter ending in July fell 1% to $112.3 million. Net loss in the quarter widened to $59.9 million or $1.67 diluted earnings per share compared to $53.8 million per share or $1.50 per share.
