Asos said total sales surged 47% to

[R]4:00 PM Frankfurt – Asos said total sales surged 47% to £208 million and Booker Group said sales soared 19%. Lufthansa splits the order for 59 aircrafts and awarded $1.5 billion engine contract to Rolls-Royce.[/R]

In London trading, FTSE 100 index climbed 1.4% or 92.44 to 6,651 and in Frankfurt the DAX index jumped 0.9% or 79.42 to 8,715.

In Paris, CAC 40 index increased 0.9% or 37.50 to 4,208.

Asos Plc surged 11.8% to 5,405 pence after the UK based online fashion retailer reported total sales in the fourth quarter ending in August surged 47% to £208 million from £141 million a year ago.

For the quarter, the retailer said sales in the UK soared 49% and International climbed 47%.

Total sales for the year climbed 40% to £754 million.

Booker Group Plc climbed 2.8% to 137.10 pence after the UK based food wholesaler reported total sales in the twelve-week to September 13 soared 19.3% and like-for-like sales jumped 3.5%.

Deutsche Lufthansa AG rose 0.4% to €13.90 after the Germany-based aviation company splits the order worth $19 billion for 59 aircrafts between EADS’ unit Airbus SAS and Boeing Co.

Rolls-Royce Holdings Plc increased 1.7% to 1,115 pence after the UK based engine maker secured engine order valued $1.5 billion from Deutsche Lufthansa AG.

The Swatch Group SA gained 1.6% to 596 francs after the Switzerland-based watches maker said export in the August was 0.5% the weaker than the last year. Total exports stood at 1.49 billion francs from 1.48 billion francs a year ago.

United Utilities Group Plc jumped 2.7% to 710 pence after the UK based water and wastewater service provider expects underlying operating profit in the first-half ending in September to be moderately higher than the prior year period.
