The Sensex Index slipped 56.57 to close at 19,748.19 The CNX Nifty fell 21.30 to close at 5,886.20. For the week, Sensex declined 2%.
Gainers & Losers
Bank of India declined 4.6% to Rs 183.50 after the bank''s gross non-performing assets surged to Rs 9,413.45 crore from Rs 6751.81 crore a year earlier.
For the quarter, the bank said net profit climbed 8.6% to Rs 964.18 crore and total income jumped 13.7% to Rs 9,722.01 crore.
As of June, ratio of gross non-performing assets to gross advances increased to 3.04% compared to 2.56% a year ago.
Bharat Electronics Limited declined 3.3% to Rs 1,150 after in the first quarter net profit declined 11.1% to Rs 17.18 crore and revenue grew 5.3% to Rs 1,010.58 crore.
Bata India Limited gained 3.4% to Rs 907.45 after net profit in the first quarter surged 17.6% to Rs 61.94 crore and revenue advanced 13.8% to Rs 572.13 crore.
Dish TV India Limited tumbled 8.2% to Rs 52.35 after in the first quarter net loss narrowed to Rs 30.37 crore from Rs 32.32 crore a same quarter year ago period. Net revenue jumped 12.1% to Rs 606.11 crore and operating revenue also climbed 11.2% to Rs 578.40 crore.
FAG Bearings India Limited slipped 2% to Rs 1,404 after net profit declined 44.7% to Rs 25.58 crore and sales declined 18.2% to Rs 309.51 crore.
Hindustan Unilever Limited fell 3.4% to Rs 663.30 after net profit in the first quarter tumbled 23.4% to Rs 1,019.25 crore and revenue increased 5.9% to Rs 6,985.79 crore.
Punjab National Bank plunged 5.2% to Rs 595.95 after the bank''s gross non-performing assets surged to Rs 15,090.63 crore compared to Rs 9,988.17 crore a year earlier.
Net profit for the quarter rose 2.4% to Rs 1,275.32 crore compared to Rs 1,245.67 crore a year ago.
As of June, ratio of gross non-performing assets to gross advances increased to 4.84% from 3.34% a year earlier.
Piramal Enterprises Limited dropped 4.9% to Rs 559.25 after the company reported consolidated net in the first quarter swung to loss of Rs 146.7 crore compared to profit of Rs 4.10 crore. Total revenue in the quarter jumped 29.8% to Rs 970.20 crore.
Raymond Limited declined 3.4% to Rs 209.40 after in the first quarter consolidated net loss widened to Rs 49.68 crore compared to Rs 34.98 crore a year ago quarter.
Sterlite Industries India Limited declined 4.6% to Rs 76.60 after consolidated net profit in the first quarter plunged 22.3% to Rs 934.06 crore and total revenue jumped 19.7% to Rs 9,315.29.
Tata Coffee Limited jumped 5.3% to Rs 1,072.60 after consolidated net profit in the first quarter soared 43.3% to Rs 40.38 crore and revenues rose 1.1% to Rs 418.46 crore.
