The Sensex Index advanced 282.41 or 1.4% to close at 19,958.47 The CNX Nifty gained 73.90 to close at 6,009. For the week, Sensex jumped 2.4%.
Gainers & Losers
Cera Sanitaryware Limited declined 5% to Rs 501.05 after net profit in the first quarter climbed 21% to Rs 11.18 crore and net sales surged 39.9% to Rs 126.59 crore.
Infosys Limited jumped 10.9% to Rs 2,802.75 after the consolidated net profit in the first quarter fell 0.8% to Rs 2,374 crore and revenue advanced 7.8% to Rs 11,267 crore.
For the year, the company expects revenue to increase between 13% and 17% in the rupee terms and increase in the range of 6% to 10% in the dollar terms.
IVRCL limited rose 0.3% to Rs 16.25 after the company secured new orders worth Rs 1,098 crore across its water and power business segments.
Kalindee Rail Nirman (Engineers) Limited climbed 6.3% to Rs 72.55 after the company board said it will evaluate all options relating to the open offer announced by Jupiter Metal to acquire stake in the company.
Reliance Capital Ltd. rose 0.8% to Rs 381.95 after gross written premium in the first quarter jumped 25% to Rs 706 crore.
Sintex Industries Limited declined 4.1% to Rs 40.20 after the consolidated net profit in the first quarter slid 0.4% to Rs 46.62 crore and total revenue climbed 4.4% to Rs 1,128.11 crore from Rs 1,076.35 crore in the year ago period.
Prefabricated building systems segment revenue in the quarter surged 18.8% to Rs 204.80 crore.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited increased 1.2% to Rs 1,108.25 after the company received approval from US Food and Drug Administration for its new drug application for generic version of Prandin and Repaglinide tablets.
Tech Mahindra Limited climbed 5.2% to Rs 1,122.20 after the company completed the process of share allocation to the shareholders of Satyam Computer Services Ltd.
