Ashok Leyland June truck sales plunged 31% and Bajaj Auto sales declined 14%. Tata Motors June sales plummeted 18% and domestic sales tumbled 32%.

The Sensex Index slipped 113.57 or 0.6% to close at 19,463.82 The CNX Nifty slid 41.30 to close at 5,857.55.

Gainers & Losers

Ashok Leyland declined 1.7% to Rs 20.30 after the company said total truck sales in June plunged 31.3% to 6,967 units.

Bajaj Auto Limited slid 0.3% to Rs 1,918.15 after the company reported motorcycle and scooter sales declined 14% to 2,95,000 units.

Hindustan Copper Limited slipped 6.6% to Rs 72.65 after the disinvestment panel is scheduled to meet today to decide floor price for government''s stake sale.

Elder Pharmaceuticals Ltd climbed 4.1% to Rs 347.90 after the company said its UK subsidiary NutraHealth has acquired West Yorkshire-based Max Healthcare.

Firstsource Solutions Limited surged 6.7% to Rs 10.17 after its U.S. subsidiary made its first quarterly repayment of $11.25 million loan on its outstanding debt.

Natco Pharma Ltd up 0.9% to Rs 453.50 after the company won approval for selling its Rizatriptan Benzoate orally disintegrating tablets in the U.S.

Petron Engineering Construction Limited fell 1.4% to Rs 65.05 after the engineering plants construction secured Rs 32.29 crore contract from NTPC.

Tata Motors Limited slipped 1.1% to Rs 286.45 after the automobile company said June auto sales plummeted 18% to 52,708 units and exports decline of 34.2%.

Total domestic passenger vehicle sales tumbled 31.54% to 11,804 units from 17,244 in the same month of a year ago.

Zensar Technologies Limited gained 1.8% to Rs 258.60 after the outsourcing services provider is in acquisition talks with at least two U.S. based companies.
