AZZ Inc ((AZZ)) plummeted 13.8% or $5.95 to $37.15 after the electrical equipments maker said net sales in the first quarter ending in May soared 44% to $183.2 million. Net income in the quarter slipped 9% to $14.5 million or 57 cents a diluted share compared to $16 million or 63 cents.
CalAmp Corp. ((CAMP)) rose 4 cents to $14.42 after the network service provider stated consolidated revenue in the first quarter ending in May climbed 23% to $53.7 million. Net income in the quarter tumbled 60% to $1.7 million or 5 cents a diluted share compared to $4.2 million or 14 cents.
For the second quarter, the company expects consolidated revenues between $53 million and $57 million and diluted earnings per share in the range of 4 cents to 8 cents.
The Finish Line, Inc ((FINL)) climbed 5.4% or $1.15 to $22.35 after the athletic shoes and apparel retailer reported consolidated sales in the first quarter ending on June 1 climbed 10% to $351.1 million. Comparable store sales advanced 2.4%.
Net earnings in the quarter plunged 59% to $5.1 million or 10 cents a diluted per share compared to $12.3 million or 20 cents.
The company added gross profit in the quarter grew 2% to $107 million and operating income jumped 62% to $7.5 million.
Nike, Inc. ((NKE)) dropped 2.1% or $1.36 to $60.96 after the athletic footwear maker said revenues in the fourth quarter ending in May advanced 8% to $6.70 billion. Net income in the quarter jumped 22% to $668 million or 73 cents a diluted share compared to $549 million or 59 cents.
Gross profit in the quarter climbed 10% to $2.94 billion.
Winnebago Industries, Inc. ((WGO)) slipped 18 cents to $20.81 after the recreation vehicles maker reported revenues in the third quarter ending on June 1 soared 40% to $218.2 million. Net income in the quarter surged 94% to $7.7 million or 27 cents a diluted share compared to $3.9 million or 13 cents.
Operating income in the quarter jumped 191% to 10.2 million.
Shaw Communications Inc. ((SJR)) gained 2.6% or 61 cents to $23.49 after Canada based telecom company said revenues in the third quarter ending in May rose 4% to $1.35 billion. Net income in the quarter edged up 0.8% to $250 million or 52 cents a diluted share compared to $248 million or 53 cents.
The company added operating income in the quarter grew 1% to $373 million.
BlackBerry ((BBRY)) plunged 27% or $3.91 to $10.57 after the Canada-based wireless devices maker stated net revenue in the first quarter ending on June 1 climbed 11% to $3.1 billion. In the quarter, net swung to a loss $84 million or 16 cents a diluted share compared to net profit $98 million or 19 cents.
