[R]3:20 PM Frankfurt – Berkeley Group revenue for the year soared 32% and profit-after-tax surged 33% to £209.7 million. Imagination Technologies revenue jumped but profit for the year tumbled 70%. Liberty Global bid for Germany based cable operator Kabel Deutschland worth €7.5 billion.[/R]
In London trading, FTSE 100 index fell 0.4% or 24.75 to 6,349 and in Frankfurt the DAX index edged up 0.05% or 4.47 to 8,234.
In Paris, CAC 40 index slid 0.3% or 12.29 to 3,848.
The Berkeley Group Holdings Plc gained 1.9% to 2,201 pence after the UK based property developer said revenue in the year ending in April soared 31.8% to £1.37 billion from £1.04 billion. Profit-after-tax for the year surged 32.6% to £209.7 million compared to £158.1 million and diluted earnings per share jumped 24.4% to 140.3 pence from 112.8 pence a year earlier.
Profit-before-tax for the year jumped 26% to £270.7 million and operating margin climbed 1.6% to 20.4% from 18.8% a year ago period.
During the year the company acquired additional 3,021 residential plots worth £314.6 million.
Imagination Technologies Group Plc climbed 5.7% to 321.90 pence after the UK based multimedia and communication technology company said revenue in the year ending in April jumped 19% to £151.5 million from £127.5 million. Profit for the year tumbled 69.5% to £6.28 million compared to £20.6 million and diluted earnings per share jumped 24.4% to 2.3 pence from 7.5 pence a year earlier.
Technology revenue for the year soared 28% to £125.7 million and royalty revenue surged 49% to £95.1 million. Licensing revenue declined to £29.1 million from £34.4 million.
Adjusted pre-tax profit for the year slipped to £34.3 million from £36.8 million.
Liberty Global Plc, the UK based telephony service provider offered €7.5 billion for Germany based cable operator Kabel Deutschland but did not release any details of the proposal.
Micro Focus International Plc surged 9.6% to 709 pence after the UK based software developer reported revenue in the year ending in April dropped 4.8% to $414 million from $434.8 million. Pre-tax profit for the year rose 2.8% to $153.4 million compared to $149.3 million and diluted earnings per share climbed 18.7% to 76.09 cents from 64.11 cents a year earlier.
Like-for-like revenue for the year fell 3.2% and license fee revenues excluding Niche rose 1.5%. Operating profit jumped to $161.3 million as against $155.8 million.
North America revenues for the full year on a like-for-like basis declined 5.5% to $189.3 million.
