The Sensex Index slipped 102.59 or 0.5% to close at 19,223.28 The CNX Nifty dropped 36.45 to close at 5,813.60.
Gainers & Losers
Jet Airways (India) Limited rose 0.4% to Rs 478.25 after the airline entered into code share agreements with Air France KLM.
Larsen & Toubro Limited fell 1.6% to Rs 1,432 and the company said it is bidding for defense contracts worth $1.4 billion or Rs 8,000 crore.
The engineering company also plans to bid for hydrocarbon projects outside the India.
Mahindra & Mahindra Limited slipped 0.5% to Rs 984 after its South Korea based unit Ssangyong Motor Company sales climbed 25% to 12,730 vehicles in May.
Reliance Communications Limited surged 11.1% to Rs 123.70 on the new national roaming regulations that permits telecom carriers to charge for national roaming.
Siemens Limited slid 0.7% to Rs 547.90 after the technology company won an order worth Rs 66 crores from National Thermal Power Corporation Limited for the renovation of Korba Stage-II plant in Chhattisgarh.
Venus Remedies Limited jumped 2.7 to Rs 281.45 after its Potentox received a patent in Mexico valid till 2025.
VA Tech Wabag Ltd climbed 3.4% to Rs 455.55 after the company in partnership with Pratibha Industries secured order worth Rs 262 crore from Melamchi Water Supply Development Board, Nepal.
