The Sensex Index fell 48.73 to close at 19,519.49 The CNX Nifty slid 2.45 to close at 5,921.40.
Gainers & Losers
BF Investment Limited gained 2.3% to Rs 43 after the fourth quarter net profit declined 51.9% to Rs 8.65 crore from Rs 17.98 crore.
For the year, net profit dropped 39.4% to Rs 26.37 crore compared to Rs 43.50 crore.
Fortis Healthcare Limited fell 0.1% to Rs 89.95 after the hospital chain plan to sell its Vietnam and Hong Kong divisions for $380 to $400 million.
Larsen & Toubro Limited gained 0.6% to Rs 1,428.20 after the company plans to bid for hydrocarbon projects worth $3 billion outside India in the current fiscal year.
MM Forgings Limited rose 0.1% to Rs 74.15 after net profit in the fourth quarter rose 0.4% to Rs 6.83 crore and sales grew 0.6% to Rs 93.73 crore.
For the year, net profit slumped 8.6% to Rs 24.45 crore compared to Rs 26.75 crore and sales grew 1.9% to Rs 350.24 crore.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited slipped 1.9% to Rs 1,018.90 after the Sweden based drug-maker Meda AB denied for stake sale in the company of $5 billion.
The Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Limited climbed 4.3% to Rs 453.30 after net profit in the fourth quarter surged 82.3% to Rs 28.97 crore and sales declined 35.9% to Rs 39.86 crore.
For the year, net profit soared nearly three-fold to Rs 32.51 crore and sales dropped 10.9% to Rs 160.20 crore.
Samtel Color Limited dropped 4.5% to Rs 1.91 after net loss in the fourth quarter widened to Rs 303.01 crore from Rs 102.64 crore a year earlier.
For the year, net loss climbed to Rs 455.61 crore compared to Rs 242.46 crore a year ago.
Tata Power Company Limited slid 0.9% to Rs 88.15 and the company said that the company has arranged financing for 135 mega watts wind project worth Rs 2,262 crore in South Africa.
Transpek Industry Limited soared 5% to Rs 81.90 after the company reported fourth quarter net swung to profit Rs 4.98 crore from net loss of Rs 0.28 crore and revenue jumped 34.9% to Rs 54.65 crore.
For the year, net swung to profit Rs 10.23 crore compared to net loss of Rs 10.31 crore and sales climbed 34.8% to Rs 207.02 crore.
