Copart, Inc. ((CPRT)) declined 3.1% or $1.15 to $35.57 after the online auctions and vehicle remarketing services reported total revenues in the third quarter ending in April climbed 14% to $277.6 million. Net income in the quarter slid 4% to $53.2 million or 41 cents a diluted share compared to $55.5 million or 43 cents.
Gross margin in the quarter was nearly flat to $115.6 million and operating income slumped 6% to $82.8 million.
Genesco Inc. ((GCO)) fell 38 cents to $68.87 after the footwear apparel stated net sales in the first quarter ending in April slid 1.2% to $591 million. Comparable store sales for the quarter decreased 4%.
Net earnings in the quarter plunged 11% to $18.4 million or 77 cents a diluted share compared to $20.6 million or 85 cents.
For the year, the company expects diluted earnings per share in the range of $5.57 to $5.67 or increase 10% to 12%.
Guess?, Inc. ((GES)) surged 7.5% or $2.20 to $31.55 after the apparel retailer stated total revenues in the first quarter ending on May 4 declined 5% to $548.9 million. Net earnings in the quarter plunged 63% to $9.92 million or 12 cents a diluted share compared to $26.6 million or 30 cents.
For the year, the apparel retailer expects consolidated net revenues in the range of $2.57 billion to $2.61 billion and diluted earnings per share between $1.70 and $1.90.
For the second quarter, the company expects consolidated net revenues between $620 million and $635 million and diluted earnings per share in the range of 34 cents to 38 cents.
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc. ((KKD)) climbed 14.7% or $2.09 to $16.35 after the retailer said net sales in the first quarter ending on May 5 climbed 11% to $120.6 million. Comparable store sales for the quarter jumped 11.4%.
Net income in the quarter soared 33% to $8 million or 11 cents a diluted share compared to $6 million or 8 cents.
The company added in the quarter operating income surged 40% to $15.2 million.
For the year, the company expects adjusted net income between $42 million and $45 million and adjusted earnings per share in the range of 59 cents and 63 cents.
Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. ((LGF)) jumped 3.9% or $1.10 to $29.13 after the Canada based entertainment company reported total revenues in the fourth quarter ending in March surged 22% to $785.7 million. Net for the quarter swung to profit $163 million or $1.10 a diluted share compared to net loss $22.7 million or 17 cents.
Pall Corporation ((PLL)) dropped 3.4% or $2.58 to $69.27 after the purification company stated sales in the third quarter ending in March declined 3% to $641.2 million. Net earnings in the quarter slipped 7% to $73 million or 64 cents a diluted share compared to $78.9 million or 67 cents.
The company added gross profit in the quarter slightly decreased to $344 million and operating profit jumped 14% to $111.9 million.
For the full-year, the company expects pro-forma earnings per share in the range of $2.95 to $3.05.
Splunk Inc. ((SPLK)) slipped 33 cents to $44.89 after the software provider said total revenue in the first quarter ending in April surged 54% to $57.2 million. Net loss in the quarter narrowed to $16.1 million or 6 cents a diluted share compared to $20.1 million or 4 cents.
For second quarter, the company expects total revenue in the range of $61 million to $63 million.
For the year, the company expects total revenue between $266 million and $274 million.
