Aditya Birla Nuvo sales and profit jumped. Godrej net surged and HDIL net swung to loss. Hindalco and NHPC profit plunged more than 25%. Power Grid and REC net climbed. Sun Pharma net soared 23% and Vardhman profit surged.

The Sensex Index closed down 13.18 to 20,147.64 The CNX Nifty slid 6.95 to close at 6,104.30.

Gainers & Losers

Aditya Birla Nuvo Limited slid 0.7% to Rs 1,082.50 after fourth quarter consolidated net profit climbed 17% to Rs 199 crore and revenue jumped 17% to Rs 6,996 crore.

For the year, net profit soared 19% to Rs 1,059 crore and revenue surged 17% to Rs 25,490 crore.

Alstom T&D India Limited slipped 1.3% to Rs 166.25 after the power transmission company delivered Rs 105 crore transmission project in Myanmar for Power Grid Corporation.

Godrej Industries Limited jumped 2.3% to Rs 303.75 after consolidated net profit in the fourth quarter surged 119% to Rs 94 crore and revenues slid to 0.5% Rs 1,472 crore.

For the year, consolidated net profit jumped 34% to Rs 391 crore and revenues climbed 24% to Rs 7,198 crore.

Housing Development and Infrastructure Limited plunged 6.8% to Rs 47.95 after the company reported consolidated net in the fourth quarter swung to loss Rs 279.95 crore compared to net profit of Rs 315.52 crore.

For the year, consolidated net profit tumbled 90.9% to Rs 73.33 crore and total revenue declined 48.2% to Rs 1,065.23 crore.

Hindalco Industries Limited fell 0.4% to Rs 109.95 after net profit declined 24.7% to Rs 482 crore and revenue from operations dropped 8.5% to Rs 6,994 crore.

NHPC Limited declined 3.3% to Rs 19.35 after fourth quarter net profit plunged 27.3% to Rs 583.26 crore and net sales tumbled 25.1% to Rs 1,037.71 crore.

NHPC net profit for the year, dropped 15.3% to Rs 2,348.22 crore and net sales slid 8.4% to Rs 5,049.13 crore.

The government of India is in process to sell 11.36% stake in the company to raise approx Rs. 2,400 crore. The government also set a disinvestment target of Rs 40,000 crore for the current fiscal.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited rose 0.8% to Rs 113.35 after fourth quarter net profit jumped 7.5% to Rs 1,109.44 crore and net sales climbed 8.8% to Rs 3,373.76 crore.

For the year, net profit surged 30.1% to Rs 4,234.50 crore and net sales soared 26.6% to Rs 12,709.45 crore.

Pidilite Industries Limited jumped 1.2% to Rs 294.20 after consolidated net profit in the fourth quarter soared 27.1% to Rs 81.31 crore and total sales from operations climbed 16.6% to Rs 839.03 crore.

For the year, consolidated net profit climbed 30.7% to Rs 423.99 crore and total sales from operations surged 17.6% to Rs 3,678.11 crore.

Parsvnath Developers Limited increased 1.65 to Rs 35.05 after the company reported consolidated net in the fourth quarter swung to profit of Rs 14 crore from net loss of Rs 23 crore a year earlier.

Rural Electrification Corporation Limited gained 1.6% to Rs 234.95 after net profit surged 26.1% to Rs 960.34 crore and total revenue advanced 27% to Rs 3,640.05 crore.

For the year, net profit soared 35.5% to Rs 3,817.62 crore and total revenue jumped 29.4% to Rs 13,598.67 crore.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited soared 7.1% to Rs 1,066.10 after consolidated net profit in the fourth quarter climbed 23.3% to Rs 1,011.56 crore and total revenue from operations surged 32.1% to Rs 3,087.04 crore.

The pharma company said in the quarter branded generic sales in India were at Rs 780 crore and US dosage sales climbed 63% to $330 million. International formulation sales jumped 13% to $73 million.

The Sandesh Limited advanced 2.8% to Rs 283.70 after net profit in the year surged 47% to Rs.57.62 crore and revenues climbed 13% to Rs.306.72.

Vardhman Textiles Limited surged 5.5% to Rs 262.95 after net profit jumped 103.3% to Rs 115.25 crore and net sales climbed 20% to Rs 1,126.21 crore.

For the year, net profit surged nearly two-fold to Rs 323.73 crore and net sales rose 6.2% to Rs 4,159.71 crore.
