Britannia sales and profit surged. Crompton sales rose but net plunged 75%. CCI net edged down and Gujarat NRE Coke net swung to profit. Jet Airways net loss widened. Oil India profit soared 72%. RCom raised mobile call rates by 33%. Wockhardt net swung to profit.

The Sensex Index climbed 326.44 or 1.7% to close at 20,030.77 The CNX Nifty jumped 99.60 or 1.7% to close at 6,083.15.

Gainers & Losers

Britannia Industries Limited surged 15.9% to Rs 665.85 after net profit climbed 65.7% to Rs 87.85 crore and net sales jumped 13.5% to Rs 1,486.63 crore.

For the year, net profit climbed 25.2% to Rs 233.87 crore and net sales jumped 12.5% to Rs 5,564.38 crore.

Crompton Greaves Limited dropped 2.4% to Rs 94.05 after the fourth quarter consolidated net profit plunged 74.8% to Rs 25.27 crore and net sales climbed 10.1% to Rs 3,387.30 crore.

For the year, net swung to a loss Rs 36.14 crore compared with net profit of Rs 373.59 crore. Net sales increased 7.5% to Rs 12,094.44 crore.

Container Corporation of India Limited inched up 0.01% to Rs 1,095 after net profit in the fourth quarter fell 0.5% to Rs 225.84 crore and net sales jumped 15% to Rs 1,231.39 crore.

For the year, net profit rose 7.1% to Rs 940.03 crore and net sales climbed 8.5% to Rs 4,405.97 crore.

Gujarat NRE Coke Ltd rose 0.9% to Rs 17.20 after the company reported fourth quarter net swung to profit Rs 5.15 crore compared to net loss of Rs 45.51 crore. Revenue for the quarter fell 0.7% to Rs 327.98 crore.

For the year, net profit surged nine-fold to Rs 30.97 crore and revenue climbed 24.8% to Rs 1,713.04 crore.

J. B. Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd jumped 2.3% to Rs 84.55 after net profit in the fourth quarter surged 122.7% to Rs 19.75 crore and net sales jumped 33.6% to Rs 197.73 crore.

For the year, net profit plunged 86.8% to Rs 84.94 crore and net sales soared 24.9% to Rs 794.46 crore.

Jet Airways (India) Limited dropped 3% to Rs 545.85 after the fourth quarter net loss widened to Rs 495.53 crore from Rs 298.12 crore and revenue slid 2.5% to Rs 3,990.50 crore.

For the year, net loss narrowed to Rs 485.50 crore from Rs 1,236.10 crore and revenue soared 13.8% to Rs 17,068.70 crore

MOIL Limited gained 0.8% to Rs 203.05 after net profit climbed 10.8% to Rs 110.08 crore and net sales surged 32.3% to Rs 266.81 crore.

For the year, net profit jumped 5.1% to Rs 431.72 crore and net sales advanced 7.5% to Rs 967.12 crore.

Oil India Limited increased 1.4% to Rs 586.70 after net profit surged 71.9% to Rs 764.55 crore and net sales climbed 38.2% to Rs 2,376.58 crore.

For the year, net profit grew 4.1% to Rs 3,589.34 crore and net sales edged up 0.1% to Rs 9,525.23 crore.

Reliance Communications Limited soared 5.3% to Rs 114.05 after the company raised pre-paid mobile call rates by 33%.

SpiceJet Limited declined 4.9% to Rs 35.95 after the fourth quarter net loss narrowed to Rs 186 crore compared with Rs 249 crore and revenue climbed 31% to Rs 1,456 crore.

For the year, net loss narrowed to Rs 191 crore from Rs 606 crore and revenue surged 43% to Rs 5,714.55 crore.

Wockhardt Limited jumped 3.9% to Rs 1,277.50 after the company reported fourth quarter consolidated net swung profit Rs 334.76 crore compared to net loss of Rs 191.64 crore.

For the year, consolidated net profit surged four-fold to Rs 1,594.12 crore and total revenue from operations jumped 28.9% to Rs 5,609.42 crore.
