India Movers: Axis Bank, Gillette India, Hindustan Zinc Net Climb

Axis Bank fourth quarter net climbed 21.8% and Gillette India third quarter net climbed 12.5%. Hindustan Zinc fourth quarter net surged 53.3% and L&T Finance net surged 21.8%. United Phosphorus net surged 37.9%.

The Sensex Index jumped 227.49 or 1.2% to close at 19,406.85 The CNX Nifty climbed 79.40 or 1.4% to close at 5,916.30.

Gainers & Losers

Axis Bank Limited soared 4.1% to Rs 1,503.45 after net profit in the fourth quarter climbed 21.8% to Rs 1,555.15 crore.

Alembic limited declined 4% to Rs 18 after company reported fourth quarter net profit swung to Rs 3.96 crore compared to net loss of Rs 3.09 crore.

Gillette India Limited slid 0.5% to Rs 2,084.30 after net profit in the third quarter climbed 12.5% to Rs 27 crore.

Hindustan Zinc Limited climbed 4.2% to Rs 118.75 after net profit in the fourth quarter surged 53.3% to Rs 2,165.81 crore.

Havell''s India Limited increased 1.2% to Rs 653 after Reserve Bank of India approved the foreign investor holding to as much as 40%.

Indiabulls Securities Limited gained 1.8% to Rs 10.43 after net profit in the fourth quarter climbed 122.1% to Rs 23.48 crore.

Jet Airways (India) Limited surged 10.7% to Rs 635.20 after Etihad Airways agreed to buy 2.72 crore new shares in the company at a price of Rs 754.74 per share for a total investment of $379 million.

L&T Finance Holdings Limited rose 0.3% to Rs 79.55 after consolidated net profit in the fourth quarter surged 21.8% to Rs 171.4 crore.

Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Limited surged 10.6% to Rs 227.85 after consolidated net profit in the fourth quarter jumped 42.9% to Rs 346.36 crore.

Petronet LNG Limited increased 1% to Rs 136.35 after the company signed agreement to purchase 4 million tons of LNG annually from the US based United LNG LP for 20 years.

Strides Arcolab Limited gained 0.6% to Rs 825.85 after the company reported first quarter net profit swung to Rs 32 crore compared to net loss of Rs 28 crore.

United Phosphorus Limited jumped 2.4% to Rs 132.15 after consolidated net profit in the fourth quarter surged 37.9% to Rs 278.40 crore.
