India Movers: Cairn India, HDFC Bank Net Jump; Tata Sponge Net Drops

Cairn India fourth quarter net surged 17% and HDFC Bank net surged 30%. Mahindra Lifespace fourth quarter net soared 95% and Persistent Systems net climbed 43%. Reliance and Airtel signed pact for international data connectivity. Tata Sponge fourth quarter net plunged 36%.

The Sensex Index gained 162.90 or 0.9% to close at 19,178.13 The CNX Nifty increased 53.80 or 0.9% to close at 5,836.90.

Cairn India Limited slipped 1.6% to Rs 288.85 after net profit in the fourth quarter surged 17.3% to Rs 2,563.60 crore.

Coromandel International Limited declined 3.6% to Rs 190.80 after consolidated net profit in the fourth quarter plunged 82.6% to Rs 11.67 crore

HDFC Bank Limited jumped 2.4% to Rs 689.40 after net profit in the fourth quarter surged 30.1% to Rs 1,889.84 crore.

Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited climbed 2.1% to Rs 390.50 after consolidated net profit in the fourth quarter soared 95.2% to Rs 82 crore.

Manali Petrochemicals Limited surged 5.9% to Rs 9.12 after net profit in the fourth quarter tumbled 72.6% to Rs 4.86 crore.

Persistent Systems Limited rose 0.6% to Rs 552.45 after net profit in the fourth quarter climbed 42.6% to Rs 51.73 crore.

Reliance Industries Limited gained 2.8% to Rs 803.50 after the company''s telecom subsidiary and Bharti Airtel signed an agreement for international data connectivity.

[Tata Sponge Iron Limited jumped 2.1% to Rs 298.35 after net profit in the fourth quarter plunged 36.1% to Rs 9.36 crore.

Tamilnadu Petroproducts Limited soared 5.8% to Rs 11.48 after the company said fourth quarter net loss widened to Rs 36.76 crore.

Zensar Technologies Limited declined 4% to Rs 246.25 after net profit in the fourth quarter jumped 13% to Rs 23.04 crore.
