India Movers: MindTree Net Jumps 14%, Wipro Drops on Outlook

MindTree fourth quarter jumped 14%. Tata Elxsi net profit fell 1.5%. UltraTech net slid 2.6%. Wipro plunged on weak revenue outlook and fourth quarter climbed 17%.

The Sensex Index increased 126.41 or 0.7% to close at 19,142.87 The CNX Nifty rose 51.30 or 0.9% to close at 5,834.40.

Gainers & Losers

Apollo Tyres Ltd soared 4.3% to Rs 93.70 after the company said it plans to open facilities in the free trade region in Bangkok from May 2.

Automobile Corporation of Goa Limited edged up 0.02% to Rs 220 after the net profit in the fourth quarter plunged 45.9% to Rs 4.82 crore.

Gitanjali Gems Limited soared 4.5% to Rs 631.30 after the company merged Gems London Co. Ltd. with Japan based lmacbc Co. Ltd.

MindTree Limited dropped 2.3% to Rs 848 after net profit in the fourth quarter jumped 14% to Rs 78.90 crore.

Tata Elxsi Limited declined 3.4% to Rs 194.40 after consolidated fourth quarter net profit fell 1.5% to Rs 8.14 crore.

Tata Power Company Limited gained 0.6% to Rs 95.60 after the company plans to set up a 28.8 MW solar plant near Satara, Maharashtra.

Transformers & Rectifiers (India) Limited surged 10.3% to Rs 95.15 after the company secured supply of 392 units of transformers worth Rs.296 crores from Gujarat.

Videocon Industries Limited climbed 5.9% to Rs 225.65 after the company discovered a new natural gas field in Rovuma block, offshore of Mozambique.

UltraTech Cement, Ltd dropped 2.5% to Rs 1,878.75 after net profit in the fourth quarter slid 2.6% to Rs 600.81 crore.

Wipro Limited plunged 7.9% to Rs 339.35 after the company estimated revenue guidance for the first quarter between 0.63% fall and a growth of 1.57% or flat on a sequential basis.

Wipro reported consolidated net profit in the fourth quarter climbed 17% to Rs 1,729 crore.
