The Sensex Index gained 115.24 or 0.6% to close at 18,357.80 The CNX Nifty increased 39.85 to close at 5,568.40.

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited slid 0.5% to Rs 178.55 after the company reported its pre-tax profit for the fiscal year soared 92% to Rs 259.63 crore.
DLF Limited slipped 1.7% to Rs 242.15 after the company said the U.S. based foreign fund Oppenheimer increased its stake to 5.18%.
Geojit BNP Paribas Financial Services Ltd soared 4.5% to Rs 21 after net profit for the fiscal year surged more than three-fold to Rs 82 crore from a year ago.
Indowind Energy Limited rose 1.1% to Rs 3.55 after net profit in the fourth quarter surged 38.1% to Rs 0.29 crore.
Kalpataru Power Transmission Limited climbed 3.1% to Rs 80.40 after the company’s subsidiary Tano Capital signed an agreement with Tano India Pvt Equity Fund II to raised Rs 800 crore.
Larsen & Toubro Limited increased 1.6% to Rs 1,380.95 after the company acquire 50% stake in L&T-Komatsu held by Japan based Komatsu.
Parekh Aluminex Limited declined 4.9% to Rs 88.20 after the company reported fourth quarter net swung to Rs 374.6 crore losses from net profit of Rs 22.1 crore a year earlier.
Tata Consultancy Services Limited slumped 2.4% to Rs 1,475.40 after the company signed an agreement to computerize retail office counters for Indian Postal Department for Rs.1,400 crore.
Technocraft Industries (India) Limited gained 2.6% to Rs 66.70 after the company agreed to acquired Canada based Swift Engineering Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
