U.S. Movers: Accenture, GameStop, Five Below, Paychex, Mosaic, Red Hat

    Accenture second quarter net surged 67% and GameStop fourth quarter net surged 50%. Five Below net jumped 55% and Paychex third quarter net rose 7% to $144.5 million. Steelcase net swung to loss and Mosaic net soared 26% to $344.6 million.

Accenture plc ((ACN)) rose 8 cents to $74.96 after the Ireland based consulting service provider said revenue in the second quarter ending in February rose 4% to $7.49 billion. Net income in the quarter surged 67% to $1.19 billion or $1.65 a diluted share compared to $714.2 million or 97 cents.

The company said new bookings in the quarter were $9.1 billion with record consulting bookings of $4.4 billion and outsourcing bookings of $4.7 billion and operating income for the quarter increased to $1.16 billion.

GameStop Corp. ((GME)) added 2 cents to $26.47 after the video game retailer stated total sales in the fourth quarter ending on February 2 were nearly flat at $3.56 billion. Consolidated comparable store sales in the quarter declined 4.6%.

Net income in the quarter surged 49.5% to $261.1 million or $2.15 a diluted share compared to $174.7 million or $1.27.

The retailer lowered outlook for the first quarter and fiscal 2013 and expects total sales for the first quarter to decline between 8% and 6% and diluted earnings per share in the range of 38 cents to 43 cents.

For the year total sales for the first quarter to drop between 8% and break even and diluted earnings per share in the range of $2.75 to $3.15.

Five Below, Inc ((FIVE)) dropped 4.9% or $1.94 to $37.22 after the discount retailer said reported net sales in the fourth quarter ending on February 2 soared 38% to $173.6 million. Comparable store sales in the quarter rose 4.4%.

Net income in the quarter jumped 55% to $19.2 million or 35 cents a diluted share compared to $12.4 million or 17 cents.

The company added operating income in the quarter soared 64% to $33 million.

For the first quarter, the discount retailer lowered its outlook and expects net sales in the range of $92 million to $94 million and net income between $0.2 million and $0.8 million and GAAP basis diluted earnings per common share between break even share and 1 cent.

H.B. Fuller Company ((FUL)) slipped 1.4% or 57 cents to $38.80 after the paint maker stated net revenue in the first quarter ending on March 2 climbed 39% to $479.8 million. Net income in the quarter jumped 36% to $20.8 million or 42 cents a diluted share compared to $15.3 million or 31 cents.

The company stated gross profit in the quarter jumped 30% to $133.4 million.

Paychex, Inc. ((PAYX)) gained 20 cents to $34.97 after the business service provider reported revenue in the third quarter ending on February 28 rose 4% to $593.3 million. Net income in the quarter increased 7% to $144.5 million or 40 cents a diluted share compared to $135.4 million or 37 cents.

PVH Corporation ((PVH)) declined 4.1% or $4.71 to $108.14 after the sportswear and footwear maker reported revenue in the fourth quarter ending on February 3 advanced 7% to $1.64 billion. Net income in the quarter soared 123% to $80.7 million or $1.09 a diluted share compared to $35.5 million or 48 cents.

Red Hat, Inc. ((RHT)) slid 17 cents to $49.80 after the software company stated revenue in the fourth quarter ending on February 28 climbed 17% to $348 million. Net income in the quarter jumped 19% to $43 million or 22 cents a diluted share compared to $36 million or 18 cents.

Steelcase Inc. ((SCS)) slumped 2.5% or 38 cents to $14.60 after the furniture maker reported revenue in the fourth quarter ending on February 22 advanced 5% to $721.4 million. In the quarter net loss swung to $27.5 million or 22 cents a diluted share compared to net income of $15 million or 11 cents.

For the first quarter, the Steelcase expects revenue between $680 and $705 million and diluted earnings per share in the range of 9 cents to 13 cents.

Synnex Corporation ((SNX)) declined 8.8% or $3.62 to $37.26 after the business service provider said revenue in the first quarter ending on February 28 was flat at $2.46 billion. Net income in the quarter plunged 13% to $33.4 million or 88 cents a diluted share compared to $38.2 million or $1.02.

The Synnex expects second quarter revenue in the range of $2.43 billion to $2.53 billion and net income between $29.8 million and $31 million and diluted earnings per share in the range of 78 cents to 82 cents.

Signet Jewelers Limited ((SIG)) surged 7.2% or $4.56 to $67.83 after the Bermuda based jewelry retailer said net sales in the fourth quarter ending on February 2 jumped 12% to $1.51 billion. Same store sales in the quarter increased 3.3%.

Net income in the quarter climbed to $171.8 million or $2.12 a diluted share compared to $156.6 million or $1.79.

The Finish Line, Inc ((FINL)) soared 6.5% or $1.19 to $19.48 after the mall-based specialty retailer stated total sales in the fourth quarter ending on March 2 slid 3% to $442.7 million. Comparable store sales in the quarter rose 0.7%.

Net income in the quarter surged 49.5% to $34.3 million or 69 cents a diluted share compared to $41.9 million or 80 cents.

Texas Industries, Inc. ((TXI)) dropped 4.4% or $2.91 to $63.09 after the construction materials supplier said net sales in the third quarter ending on February 28 jumped 16% to $141.4 million. Net loss in the quarter narrowed to $5.81 million or 21 cents a diluted share compared to $24.3 million or 87 cents.

The Mosaic Company ((MOS)) gained 1.9% or $1.17 to $59.88 after the chemical producer stated revenue in the third quarter ending on February 28 increased 2% to $2.24 billion. Net income in the quarter soared 26% to $344.6 million or 81 cents a diluted share compared to $373.3 million or 64 cents.

Verint Systems Inc ((VRNT)) climbed 5% or $1.76 to $36.59 after the software company reported net sales in the fourth quarter ending in January advanced 8% to $229 million. Net income in the quarter surged 68% to $21.9 million or 50 cents a diluted share compared to $13 million or 34 cents.

The company added gross profit in the quarter rose 13% to 156.5 million.
