U.S. Movers: Focus Media, Gordmans, Neogen, Turquoise Hill, Children's Place

AuRico Gold Inc. ((AUQ)) dropped 5.8% or 39 cents to $6.25 after the Canada based gold producer reported revenue in the fourth quarter ending in December surged 112% to $63.1 million. In the quarter net swung to $134.4 million loss or 48 cents a diluted share compared to net earnings of $23 million or 9 cents.

Focus Media Holding Limited ((FMCN)) gained 12 cents to $26.80 after the Hong Kong based media company stated total revenue in the fourth quarter ending in December was nearly flat to $250.2 million. Net income in the quarter surged more than doubled to $76.7 million or 57 cents a diluted share compared to $37.1 million or 28 cents.

The company added gross profit in the quarter decreased 2% to $171.3 million.

Gordmans Stores, Inc. ((GMAN)) plunged 16.1% or $2.29 to $11.93 after the apparel retailer said net sales in the fourth quarter ending on February 2 climbed 9% to $202.5 million. Comparable sales in the quarter rose 4.2%.

Net income in the quarter plunged 23% to $7.9 million or 41 cents a diluted share compared to $10.2 million or 53 cents.

The company added gross profit in the quarter advanced 6% to $78.4 million.

Neogen Corporation ((NEOG)) slipped 1% or 51 cents to $48.07 after the medical equipments maker revenues in the third quarter ending on February 28 jumped 14% to $51 million. Net income in the quarter climbed 27% to $6.65 billion or 27 cents a diluted share compared to $5.24 million or 22 cents.

Sonic Corp ((SONC)) surged 9.4% or $1.11 to $12.84 after the restaurants company reported net revenue in the second quarter ending on February 28 dropped 3% to $111.1 million. Comparable sales in the quarter were flat.

Net income in the quarter surged two-fold to $3.58 million or 6 cents a diluted share compared to $1.68 million or 3 cents.

Turquoise Hill Resources Ltd ((TRQ)) slumped 1.5% or 10 cents to $6.22 after the Canada based mining company stated revenue in the fourth quarter ending in December decreased 18% to $41.6 million. Net loss in the quarter widened to $182.4 million or 18 cents a diluted share compared to $85.8 million or 4 cents.

The Children''s Place Retail Stores, Inc ((PLCE)) decreased 1.4% or 65 cents to $45.34 after the specialty retailer said net sales in the fourth quarter ending on February 2 climbed 11% to $509.2 million. Comparable sales in the quarter jumped 4.3%.

Net income in the quarter declined 18% to $19.1 million or 80 cents a diluted share compared to $23.3 million or 93 cents.

The retailer expects first quarter non-GAAP diluted earnings per diluted share between 60 cents and 65 cents.
