The Sensex Index climbed 265.21 or 1.4% to close at 19,143.96 The CNX Nifty jumped 85.75 or 1.5% to close at 5,784.25.

Gainers & Losers

Adani Enterprises Limited jumped 3.4% to Rs 216.80 after the secondary offering of 95 million shares was oversubscribed.

DLF Limited advanced 3.6% to Rs 259.65 after the board is scheduled to discuss the share sale on the next meeting on March 6.

Essar Oil Limited surged 21% to Rs 88 after the company received environmental clearance for its coal bed methane gas field at West Begnal.

GMR Infrastructure, Ltd climbed 3.2% to Rs 19.40 after the company sold 70% stake in a power project in Singapore.

Mahindra & Mahindra increased 1.4% to Rs 897.70 after consolidated net profit in the third quarter jumped 50.8% to Rs 1,254.30 crore.

Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Limited soared 5.9% to Rs 190.45 after the company successfully raised Rs. 867 crore through qualified institutional placement during the third quarter.

Natco Pharma Ltd surged 5.6% to Rs 448.95 after the company was allowed to manufacture and sell patented medicine of German multinational Bayer''s anti-cancer drug.

PG Foils Limited slipped 1.7% to Rs 42 after net profit surged in the third quarter 71.2% to Rs 1.13 crore.

Reliance Industries Limited gained 1.7% to Rs 826.30 after the defense ministry permitted oil and gas exploration in the KG-D6 block and the discovery process in the NEC-25.

Tata Motors Limited climbed 3.7% to Rs 300.60 after the company increased the prices of its sports utility vehicles after the latest duty hike in the budget.

Videocon Industries Limited jumped 3.2% to Rs 203.40 after the report the company plan to sell 10% stake in natural gas field of Rovuma offshore, Mozambique.
