India Movers: Bhel Net Drops 18%; M&M, Maruti, TVS Sales Slip

Bhel third quarter net declined 18%. Jet Airways swung to Rs 85 crore net income. Marico net jumped 21%. MRPL net swung to a loss. M&M, Maruti Suzuki, TVS January sales slipped.

The Sensex Index declined 113.79 to close at 19,781.19 The CNX Nifty dropped 35.85 to close at 5,998.90.

Gainers & Losers

Bharat Heavy Electricals declined 3% to Rs 220.75 after net profit in the third quarter declined 17.5% to Rs 1181.85 crore.

Corporation Bank plunged 6.2% to Rs 427.85 after net profit in the third quarter plummeted 24.6% to Rs 303.17 crore.

Godfrey Phillips India Limited slipped 1.5% to Rs 3,305 after net profit in the third quarter increased 7.2% to Rs 49.21 crore.

Jet Airways (India) Limited increased 1.1% to Rs 629.75 on speculation that Abu Dhabi based Etihad Airways may buy 24% stake as early as next week.

The company swung to net profit in the quarter to Rs 85 crore from net loss of Rs 101.22 crore a year ago earlier.

Mahindra & Mahindra Limited slid 0.5% to Rs 885.95 after the company said total tractor sales dropped 9.75% to 17,473 units in January from a year ago month.

Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited dropped 2.7% to Rs 62.40 after the company said third quarter net loss of Rs 360 crore from net profit of Rs 110 crore a year ago.

Marico Limited gained 1.2% to Rs 230.10 after the consolidated net profit in the third quarter jumped 21% to Rs 102 crore.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited increased 1.7% to Rs 1,608.70 after the company said vehicle sales dropped to 114,205 units in January, slipped 1.1% from 115,433 units a year earlier month.

Punjab and Sind Bank slipped 1.9% to Rs 70.70 after net profit in the third quarter declined 19.6% to Rs 73.68 crore.

State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur increased 1.5% to Rs 478.65 after net profit in the quarter climbed 31.2% to Rs 215.11 crore.

TVS Motor Company Limited slipped 2.5% to Rs 42.60 after net profit in the third quarter slumped 8.8% at Rs 52 crore.

TTK Healthcare Limited declined 3.6% to Rs 496.60 net profit in the third quarter declined 25.7% to Rs 3.06 crore.
