India Movers: Jaiprakash Power Swings to Loss, TCS Up 3.5%

Jaiprakash Power third quarter net loss swung to a quarterly loss. JSW Steel said third quarter steel production increased 8%. Petronet LNG third quarter climbed 7.8% and Tata Consultancy Services net profit in the quarter grew 3.5% to nearly $700 million.

The Sensex Index jumped 242.77 or 1.2% to close at 19,906.41 The CNX Nifty climbed 72.75 or 1.2% to close at 6,024.05.

Gainers & Losers

DLF Limited climbed 7.7% to Rs 247.80 after the stock jumped on no news and was swept higher in market rally.

Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited declined 4.7% to Rs 38.35 after the company reported third quarter net loss swung to Rs 97.58 crore compare to net profit of Rs 59.52 crore from a year ago.

JSW Steel Limited gained 1.9% to Rs 846.55 and the company reported third quarter crude steel production increased 8%.

Muthoot Finance Limited jumped 4.9% to Rs 226.90 after the net profit in the third quarter advanced 7.65% to Rs 270.07 crore.

Petronet LNG Limited increased 2.2% to Rs 165 after the net profit in the third quarter climbed 7.8% to Rs 318.50 crore.

Tata Consultancy Services Limited jumped 2.1% to Rs 1,334.30 after the consolidated net profit in the third quarter grew 3.5% to Rs 3,434.37 crore.

Triveni Turbine Ltd climbed 4.1% to Rs 62.10 after the turbine maker said for fiscal 2013 it is confident to achieve a single digit growth in turnover.

Timken India Ltd declined 2.3% to Rs 192.80 after its board of directors considered public issue of 42,65,000 shares.
