Europe Movers: BP, Henkel, Lafarge, Reckitt Benckiser, Volvo

[R]11:20 AM Frankfurt – Aegis total group revenue rose 14.5% and Henkel sales rose 6.6% to €4.29 billion in the third quarter. Reckitt Benckiser planned to commence a tender offer to acquire all of the outstanding shares of Schiff Nutrition.[/R]

Aegis Group plc rose 0.6% to 235.30 pence after the media and digital marketing communications group said total group revenue for the third quarter rose 14.5%, in constant currency, and 10% at reported rates.

BP plc gained 0.4% to $40.30 after the oil and gas explorer agreed to pay about $4.5 billion to the U.S. government relating to the Deepwater Horizon accident in the Gulf of Mexico.

GlaxoSmithKline plc inched higher 0.2% to 1,327.95 pence after the drugmaker agreed to pay $90 million to several states in the U.S. to settle claims it used illegal means to promote its diabetes drug Avandia.

Henkel AG & Co. KGaA slumped 4.7% to €58.37 after the German household consumer products maker reported third quarter sales rose 6.6% to €4.29 billion. Net income for the quarter rose 30.3% to €409 million from €314 million last year.

Lafarge SA dipped 0.6% to €45.35 after the building materials producer and Anglo American Plc agreed to sell a portfolio of Tarmac and Lafarge construction materials operations in the UK and Tarmac''s 50% ownership interest in Midland Quarry Products Ltd. to Mittal Investments for £272 million including up to £30 million contingent on the performance of the underlying assets over the next three years.

Reckitt Benckiser Group Plc dropped 0.5% to 3,731 pence after the personal care products manufacturer announced that it would commence a tender offer to acquire all of the outstanding shares of Schiff Nutrition International for $42.00 per share in cash valuing Schiff at about $1.4 billion.

Rolls-Royce Holdings Plc fell 0.1% to 851 pence after the power systems and services provider won a £12 million order to design and equip two platform supply vessels at Jiangsu Eastern Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. in China.

Rotork Plc gained 0.1% to 2,326.58 pence after the actuator manufacturer said revenue in the third quarter was 9.9% higher than the prior year.

Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson fell 1.5% to SEK 58 after the communications technology company appointed Mats H Olsson as Senior Vice President of Asia-Pacific, effective January 1.

Volvo AB increased 0.1% to SEK 88.65 after the trucks manufacturer said total deliveries from its truck operations in October fell 8% to 20,254 vehicles compared with the year-earlier month.
