Europe Movers: BHP, ICAP, Infineon, RWE, Bilfinger, VimpelCom

    ICAP first-half revenues fell 14% to

[R]2:10 PM Frankfurt – ICAP first-half revenues fell 14% to £746 million. VimpelCom quarterly net surged 185% to $538 million and Infineon earnings rose 10%. RWE first nine months net soared 33% to €1.88 billion. Celesio sells Irish pharmaceutical wholesale subsidiary to Uniphar.[/R]

BHP Billiton plc dropped 1% to 1,934.50 pence after the miner agreed to sell its diamond business, comprising its interests in the EKATI Diamond Mine and Diamonds Marketing operations to Harry Winston Diamond Mines Ltd. for $500 million.

Bilfinger SE gained 4.8% to €76.83 after the construction and services group said third quarter net profit decreased 5% to €57 million from €60 million in the previous year. Earnings per share dropped to €1.28 from €1.35 in the prior year.

Celesio AG declined 2.2% to €14.65 after the healthcare and pharmaceutical company agreed to sell its Irish pharmaceutical wholesale subsidiary Cahill May Roberts Ltd, including Movianto Ireland to Uniphar, an Irish pharmaceutical wholesale and logistics company for €49.9 million.

ICAP plc slumped 6.5% to 289.70 pence after the inter-dealer broker reported first half total revenues fell 14% to £746 million. Profit before tax for the period declined to £68 million from £151 million in the previous year.

Infineon Technologies AG soared 5.5% to €553 after the German semiconductor maker reported fourth quarter revenues declined 5% to €982 million. Net income for the quarter rose 10% to €138 million or 13 cents per diluted share from €125 million or 11 cents per share a year ago.

J. Sainsbury plc fell 2% to 340.14 pence after the British retailer reported first-half revenue increased 4% to £12.16 billion from the prior year. Profit before tax climbed 2.5% to £405 million from £395 million a year ago.

Koenig & Bauer AG fell 0.7% to €14.16 after the printing press manufacturer reported nine-month sales rose to €916.2 million from €785.7 million in the previous year. Profit in the period swung to €5.9 million or 36 cents per share compared to the loss of €32.5 million or €1.97 per share last year.

RWE AG dipped 0.3% to €32.81 after the German utility reported net income for the first nine months increased 33% to €1.88 billion from €1.42 billion. EBITDA increased 8% to €6.7 billion. Recurrent net income, the yardstick for the dividend proposal, rose 6% to €1.9 billion.

VimpelCom Ltd. increased 0.4% to $10.71 after the Russian telecommunications services provider reported third quarter total operating revenues declined 6% to $5.75 billion. Net income for the quarter surged 185% to $538 million from $189 million in the previous year. On a per share basis, earnings rose to 33 cents from 12 cents per share a year ago.

Wirecard AG slid 0.6% to €18.39 after the electronic payment provider reported third quarter revenues increased 20.3% to €101.6 million from the previous year. Profit for the quarter climbed to €24.79 million or 18 cents per share from €19.84 million or 16 cents per share last year.
