Carlsberg revenues increased 8% to DKK 18.81 billion, Telef

[R]1:30 PM Frankfurt – Carlsberg revenues increased 8% to DKK 18.81 billion, Telefónica swung to profit and ING net result plunged 64% to €609 million in the third quarter. Barry Callebaut operating profit for the full year fell 2.5%. Hochtief swung to nine-month net profit of €92 million.[/R]

Axel Springer AG gained 3% to €34.13 after the German publisher reported third quarter revenues fell 0.7% to €787.3 million from the prior-year quarter. Consolidated net income plunged 64.5% to €29.1 million from €82 million last year.

Barry Callebaut AG soared 4.4% to Sfr923.50 after the cocoa and chocolate products manufacturer said sales revenue for the full year rose 11.5% to Sfr4.83 billion. Operating profit for the period fell 2.5% to Sfr353.2 million from Sfr362.3 million a year before.

BNP Paribas SA soared 5.2% to €41.16 after the French lender reported third quarter revenues fell 3.4% to €9.69 billion from the previous year. Net income in the quarter surged to €1.32 billion from €541 million last year.

Brenntag AG dipped 0.1% to €97.41 after the chemical distributor reported third quarter sales rose to €2.47 billion from €2.22 billion in the same quarter a year earlier. Profit before tax climbed 2.5% to €109.6 million from €106.9 million in the previous year.

Carlsberg A/S soared 2.7% to DKK 532 after the Danish brewer reported third quarter net revenues grew 8% to DKK 18.81 billion. Consolidated profit declined to DKK 2.14 billion from DKK 3.01 billion last year. On a per share basis, earnings fell to DKK 14 from DKK 19.7 per share in the year-ago period.

Hochtief AG surged 6.7% to €41.17 after the construction group said nine-month sales grew to €18.51 billion from €15.76 billion in the same period a year earlier. Consolidated net profit was €92 million compared to a net loss of €57 million last year.

ING Groep N.V. climbed 1.4% to €6.98 after the Dutch bank and insurance group reported third quarter net result plunged 64% to €609 million from €1.69 billion in the prior year. On a per share basis, earnings declined to 16 cents from 45 cents last year. The latest results included divestments and special items.

Schibsted ASA climbed 0.9% to NOK 219 after the Norwegian media conglomerate said third quarter operating revenues climbed to NOK 3.52 billion from NOK 3.38 billion in the year-ago quarter. Profit in the quarter fell to NOK 225 million versus NOK 229 million last year. Earnings per share improved to NOK 1.97 from NOK 1.94 in the previous year.

Telefónica S.A. rose 1.2% to €10.35 after the telecommunications provider said third quarter revenues fell 1.6% to €15.54 billion from the prior-year quarter. Net income in the quarter was €1.38 billion compared with a loss of €429 million last year.

Vestas Wind Systems A/S plunged 9.6% to DKK 27.77 after the Danish wind turbine maker reported third quarter revenue surged 49% to €1.99 billion compared with the year earlier period. Loss after tax for the quarter widened to €175 million from €60 million last year.
