French, Dutch and Swedish Production Declines

    French, Swedish and the Netherlands output fell in May. Norwegian inflation remained stable but Romanian consumer price index increased in June.

French Output Drops

Industrial production in France declined 1.9% on a monthly basis in May, following a 1.4% gain in April data from the French statistics office Insee showed.

Manufacturing production dropped 1% on a monthly basis in May compared to the 0.9% decline in April.

Dutch Production Falls

Industrial production in the Netherlands decreased 0.5% on an annual basis in May following a 0.4% growth in April, data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics showed.

Output in the food and beverages industry dropped1.6% compared to last year, while production in the textile, clothing and leather industry slumped 8.1% in May.

Swedish Industrial Output Declines

Sweden''s industrial production declined 2.3% on an annual basis in May from the 6.4% decrease in April, revised down by 0.2 percentage points, preliminary data released by Statistics Sweden showed.

From a month ago, industrial output increased a seasonally adjusted 3.5% in May compared to the revised 0.2% drop in April.

Separately, the agency said new orders in the Swedish industrial sector decreased a working-day adjusted 3.3% annually in May.

Italian Production Rises

Industrial production in Italy rose 0.8% in May from a month earlier, the national statistics office Istat said today.

Norwegian Inflation Steady

Norway''s annual consumer price inflation remained stable at 0.5% in June, data released by Statistics Norway showed.

Sequentially, the consumer price index dropped 0.5% in June following a 0.4% drop in May.

Separately, the agency said Norway''s producer price index, including oil products, decreased 0.2% annually in June compared to 2.5% increase in May. Compared to May, output prices decreased 3.5% in June.

Romanian Inflation Climbs

Romania''s consumer price index increased 2.04% on an annual basis in June, data released by the National Institute of Statistics showed today.

Prices of non-food products gained 2.96% annually in June.
