Alliant Energy fourth quarter net increased to $57 million. Brookfield Office fourth quarter net slumped to $338 million and PPL Corp. fourth quarter net increased to $401 million. Telus Corp. fourth quarter net increased 5% to $237 million.

Alliant Energy Corporation ((LNT)) fell 21 cents to $43.15 after the electricity and natural gas service provider reported fourth quarter revenue grew to $879.2 million from $832.6 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased to $57.0 million or 51 cents per diluted share compared to $47.3 million or 43 cents per diluted share in the year ago earlier.

Activision Blizzard, Inc. ((ATVI)) fell 15 cents to $12.51 after the online game publisher reported fourth quarter total revenue fell to $1.41 billion from $1.43 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter swung to $99 million or 8 cents per diluted share compared net loss of to $233 million or 20 cents per diluted share in the year ago.

For 2011 revenue increased to $4.76 billion from $4.45 billion in last year. Net income for the year soared to $1.09 billion or 92 cents per diluted share compared to $0.42 billion or 33 cents per share in the prior year.

Brookfield Office Properties Inc. ((BPO)) fell 16 cents to $17.65 after the real estate investment company reported fourth quarter revenue grew to $527 million from $397 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter slumped to $338 million or $0.58 per diluted share compared to $971 million or $1.70 per diluted share in the year ago earlier.

Buckeye Partners, L.P. ((BPL)) decreased 2.3% or $1.47 to $62.28 after the petroleum pipeline operator reported fourth quarter revenue rose to $1.31 billion from $1.02 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter surged to $59.7 million or 64 cents per diluted share compared to $8.4 million or 19 cents per diluted share in the year ago quarter.

Calpine Corporation ((CPN)) rose 6 cents to $15.45 after the power company reported fourth quarter revenue flat to $1.46 billion from $1.47 million in the same quarter last year. Net loss in the quarter narrowed to $13 million or 3 cents per diluted share compared to $24 million or 5 cents per diluted share in the year ago earlier.

FLIR Systems, Inc. ((FLIR)) decreased 1.9% or 49 cents to $25.25 after the sensor system maker reported fourth quarter revenue fell 7% to $405.2 million from $437.5 million in the same quarter last year. Net earnings in the quarter increased to $76.1 million or 48 cents per diluted share compared to $69.8 million or 43 cents per diluted share in the year ago period.

PPL Corporation ((PPL)) rose 23 cents to $27.94 after the energy and utility holding company reported fourth quarter total revenue surged to $4.22 billion from $1.86 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased to $401 million or 69 cents per diluted share compared to $355 million or 73 cents per diluted share in the year ago.

For 2011 revenue increased to $12.74 billion from $8.52 billion in last year. Net income for the year soared to $1.44 billion or $2.61 per diluted share compared to $0.94 billion or $2.17 per share in the prior year.

LinkedIn Corporation ((LNKD)) soared 11.4% or $8.71 to $85.10 after the online professional identity network operator reported fourth quarter revenue surged 105% to $167.7 million from $81.7 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased to $6.9 million or 6 cents per diluted share compared to $5.3 million or 3 cents per diluted share in the year ago earlier.

Nuance Communications, Inc. ((NUAN)) dropped 12.2% or $3.71 to $26.74 after the voice and language solution provider reported first quarter revenue increased 19% to $360.6 million from $303.8 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter swung to $9.3 million or 3 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $0.009 million or break even per diluted share in the year ago period.

TELUS Corporation ((TU)) decreased 2.1% or $1.16 to $53.66 after the Canada based telecommunication service provider reported fourth quarter total revenue rose 5% to $2.7 billion from $2.5 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased 5% to $237 million or 75 cents per diluted share compared to $226 million or 70 cents per diluted share in the year ago.

For 2011 revenue increased 6% to $10.4 billion from $9.8 billion in last year. Net income for the year soared 16% to $1.22 billion or $3.74 per diluted share compared to $1.05 billion or $3.27 per share in the prior year.
