U.S. Movers: Anadarko, Becton, Emerson Electric, Coca-Cola, YUM!

    AGCO fourth quarter net surged to $285.2 million and Anadarko fourth quarter net loss swung to $358 million. Emerson Electric first quarter net slumped 23% to $371 million. Coca-Cola fourth quarter net declined 71% to $1.65 billion.

AGCO Corporation ((AGCO)) decreased 6.3% or $1.67 to $28.13 after the agricultural equipments maker reported fourth quarter net sales increased 16% to $2.5 billion from $2.2 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter surged to $285.2 million or $2.90 per diluted share compared to $85.2 million or $0.87 per diluted share in the year ago earlier.

2011 net sales increased 27% to $8.8 billion from $6.9 billion in last year. Net income for the year soared to $583.3 million or $5.95 per diluted share compared to $220.5 million or $2.29 per share in the prior year.

Anadarko Petroleum Corporation ((APC)) increased 2.2% or $1.90 to $84.72 after the oil and natural gas explorer reported fourth quarter total revenue soared to $3.84 billion from $2.69 billion in the same quarter last year. Net loss in the quarter swung to $358 million or 72 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $111 million or 22 cents per diluted share in the year ago earlier.

For 2011 revenue increased to $13.99 billion from $10.98 billion in last year. Net loss for the year swung to $2.65 billion or $5.32 per diluted share compared to net income of $0.8 billion or $1.52 per share in the prior year.

Becton, Dickinson and Company ((BDX)) dropped 4.3% or $3.52 to $77.01 after the medical devices maker reported first quarter revenues grew 2.5% to $1.89 billion from $1.84 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter dropped 17% to $263.0 million or $1.21 per diluted share compared to $315.9 million or $1.36 per diluted share in the year ago.

Church & Dwight Co., Inc. ((CHD)) advanced 4.8% or $2.18 to $47.42 after the personal and household products maker reported fourth quarter net revenue increased to $731.1 million from $656.9 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased to $63.8 million or 44 cents per diluted share compared to $47 million or 32 cents per diluted share in the year ago period.

Emerson Electric Co. ((EMR)) slipped 3.9% or $2.09 to $51.27 after the diversified technology company reported first quarter net sales rose 4% to $5.31 billion from $5.54 billion in the same quarter last year. Net earnings in the quarter slumped 23% to $371 million or 50 cents per diluted share compared to $480 million or 63 cents per diluted share in the year ago.

Harman International Industries, Inc ((HAR)) increased 7.6% or $3.40 to $47.91 after the audio and video systems maker reported second quarter net sales increased 18% to $1.13 billion from $0.96 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased 12% to $59 million or 82 cents per diluted share compared to $53 million or 74 cents per diluted share in the year ago earlier.

Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. ((MMP)) fell 39 cents to $67.82 after the petroleum products distributor reported fourth quarter total revenues increased to $486.9 million from $398.5 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter surged 25% to $110.3 million or 97 cents per diluted share compared to $88.0 million or 78 cents per diluted share in the year ago quarter.

Ralcorp Holdings, Inc. ((RAH)) rose 25 cents to $75.88 after the ready-to-eat foods maker completes previously announced separation of Post Holdings, Inc. ((POST)) spin-off to Ralcorp shareholders records close of business on January 30 and received one share of Post common stock for every two shares of Ralcorp. Ralcorp will continue the trade under symbol ""RAH"". The distribution was effective from February 3.

The Coca-Cola Company ((KO)) rose 17 cents to $68.20 after the beverage company reported fourth quarter total revenue increased 5% to $11 billion from $10.5 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter declined 71% to $1.65 billion or $0.72 per diluted share compared to $5.77 million or $2.46 per diluted share in the year ago.

For 2011 revenue soared 33% to $46.5 billion from $35.1 billion in last year. Net income for the year dropped 27% to $8.57 billion or $3.69 per diluted share compared to $11.81 billion or $5.06 per share in the prior year.

TransDigm Group Inc ((TDG)) increased 1.6% or $1.75 to $109.17 after the aircraft components maker reported first quarter net sales surged 51% to $352.5 million from $233.6 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter swung to $65.1 million or $1.15 per diluted share compared to net loss of $7.4 million or $0.19 per diluted share in the year ago.

YUM! Brands, Inc. ((YUM)) increased 3.6% or $2.30 to $65.49 after the restaurant operator reported fourth quarter total revenue increased 15% to $4.11 billion from $3.56 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter surged 30% to $356 million or 75 cents per diluted share compared to $274 million or 56 cents per diluted share in the year ago.

For 2011 revenue increased to $12.63 billion from $11.34 billion in last year. Net income for the year increased 14% to $1.32 billion or $2.74 per diluted share compared to $1.16 billion or $2.38 per share in the prior year.
