    Fastenal fourth quarter net soared 34.2% to $87.5 million. Goldman Sachs fourth quarter net declined 56% to $978 million. Charles Schwab fourth quarter net soared 30% to $163 million. U.S. Bancorp fourth quarter net soared 38.6% to $1.3 billion.

Amphenol Corporation ((APH)) soared 10.8% or $5.23 to $53.50 after the fiber optic connector maker reported fourth quarter net sales increased to $948.7 million from $949.9 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter fell to $113.8 million or 69 cents per diluted share compared to $131.1 million or 74 cents share a year earlier.

ASML Holding N.V. ((ASML)) rose 1.3% or 57 cents to $43.16 after the Netherlands based integrated circuit maker reported fourth quarter total net sales fell to €1.21 billion from €1.52 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter decreased to €284.7 million or 68 cents per diluted share compared to €406.8 million or 93 cents share a year ago.

ADTRAN, Inc. ((ADTN)) gained 2.8% or 89 cents to $32.21 after the communications equipments provider reported fourth quarter sales increased to $175.3 million from $165.3 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter fell to $31.2 million or 48 cents per diluted share compared to $36.0 million or 56 cents share a year earlier.

Bank of the Ozarks, Inc. ((OZRK)) fell 7 cents to $30.10 after the bank holding company said fourth quarter net interest income increased 35% to $45.8 million from $33.9 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter rose 3.8% to $17.6 million or 51 cents per diluted share compared to $16.9 million or 49 cents share a year ago period.

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. ((CHKP)) fell 0.3% or 21 cents to $54.67 after the software company reported fourth quarter revenue increased 12% to $356.8 million from $318.5 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased 16% to $159.8 million or 75 cents per diluted share compared to $137.4 million or 64 cents share a year ago quarter.

Cree, Inc. ((CREE)) declined 8 cents to $23.25 after the semiconductor and devices maker reported second quarter revenue increased 18% to $304.1 million from $257.0 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter declined 76% to $12.1 million or 10 cents per diluted share compared to $49.8 million or 45 cents share a year ago period.

Fastenal Company ((FAST)) dropped 2.3% or $1.12 to $45.67 after the industrial and construction supplier reported fourth quarter net sales increased 21.6% to $697.8 million from $573.8 million in the same quarter last year. Net earnings in the quarter soared 34.2% to $87.5 million or 30 cents per diluted share compared to $65.2 million or 22 cents share a year earlier.

Linear Technology Corporation ((LLTC)) gained 7.2% or $2.17 to $32.04 after the analog integrated circuit maker reported second quarter decreased 23% to $294.3 million from $383.6 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter slipped 39% to $87.9 million or 10 cents per diluted share compared to $143.7 million or 62 cents share a year ago quarter.

Northern Trust Corporation ((NTRS)) decreased 2.4% or 90 cents to $41.03 after the financial holding company reported fourth quarter total revenue grew 7% to $955.6 million from $896.1 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter slipped 17% to $130.2 million or 53 cents per diluted share compared to $157.1 million or 64 cents share a year ago period.

State Street Corporation ((STT)) dropped 6.5% or $2.78 to $39.97 after the financial holding company reported fourth quarter revenue increased 13% to $2.31 billion from $2.04 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter three fold to $381 million or 76 cents per diluted share compared to $81 million or 16 cents share a year ago.

The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. ((GS)) increased 2.1% or 2.12 to $99.80 after the bank and financial holding company reported fourth quarter net revenue decreased 30% to $6.0 billion from $8.6 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter declined 56% to $978 million or $1.84 per diluted share compared to $2,227 million or $3.79 share a year ago period.

The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation ((BK)) decreased 3.9% or 83 cents to $20.44 after the financial service provider reported fourth quarter total revenue fell 6% to $3.54 billion from $3.75 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter slipped to $505 million or 42 cents per diluted share compared to $679 million or 54 cents share a year ago.

The Charles Schwab Corporation ((SCHW)) increased 1.6% or 20 cents to $11.95 after the investment services provider reported fourth quarter net revenue fell 1% to $1.11 billion from $1.13 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter soared 30% to $163 million or 13 cents per diluted share compared to $119 million or 10 cents share a year quarter.

The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc ((PNC)) decreased 3.5% or $2.20 to $59.04 after the financial service provider reported fourth quarter total revenue fell 6% to $3.55 billion from $3.90 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter slipped to $493 million or $0.85 per diluted share compared to $820 million or $1.50 share a year ago earlier.

U.S. Bancorp ((USB)) rose 0.3% or 10 cents to $28.87 after the financial holding company reported fourth quarter total net revenue increased 8.1% to $5.10 billion from $4.72 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter soared 38.6% to $1,350 million or 69 cents per diluted share compared to $974 million or 49 cents share a year ago period.

WNS (Holdings) Limited ((WNS)) rose 2 cents to $9.97 after the India based outsourcing company reported third quarter revenue decreased 23.2% to $117.2 million from $152.7 million in the same quarter last year. Gross Profit in the quarter increased 30% to $35.1 million or 9 cents per diluted share compared to $31.6 million or 20 cents share a year quarter.
