Costco net sales in November rose 11% to $7.5 billion. Guess third quarter net fell 4% to $66.3 million. Gildan Activewear third quarter net increased to $56.8 million. PVH third quarter increased rose to $112.2 million. Talbots said third quarter net loss of $22.04 million.

Aeropostale, Inc. ((ARO)) gained 4.3% or 68 cents to $16.19 after the casual apparel retailer said third quarter total sales declined 1% to $596.5 million from $602.8 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter slumped 59% to $24 million or 30 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $58.5 million or 63 cents per share last year.

Costco Wholesale Corp. ((COST)) rose 2.1% or $1.79 to $87.09 after the membership warehouse operator reported net sales for the four weeks ended November 27 increased 11% to $7.51 billion from $6.78 billion in the same period last year and comparable store sales increased 9%.

Guess?, Inc. ((GES)) increased 5.3% or $1.49 to $29.61 after the international fashion house said third quarter total net revenue rose 4.7% to $642.80 million from $613.90 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter fell 4% to $66.3 million or 71 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $69.1 million or 75 cents per share for the year-ago quarter.

Gildan Activewear Inc. ((GIL)) declined 31.4% or $7.52 to $16.36 after the non fashion apparel maker reported fourth quarter net sales soared 22.3% to $368.9 million from $301.7 million in the same quarter last year. Net earnings in the quarter increased to $56.8 million or 47 cents per diluted share compared to $42.4 million or 35 cents share a year earlier.

H&R Block, Inc. ((HRB)) increased 2.1% or 33 cents to $16.06 after the tax service provider reported second quarter total revenue increased 8% to $129.2 million from $119.6 million in the same quarter last year. Net loss in the quarter widened to $141.7 million or 47 cents per diluted share compared to $109.0 million or 36 cents share a year earlier.

Movado Group, Inc. ((MOV)) soared 13.3% or $2.10 to $17.83 after the fine watches and jewelry maker reported third quarter net sales increased 16% to $142.6 million from $123.0 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter fell to $16.4 million or 65 cents per diluted share compared to $17.1 million or 69 cents share a year ago.

PVH Corp. ((PVH)) fell 0.4% or 27 cents to $67.62 after the apparel company reported third quarter revenue increased 9% to $1.65 billion from $1.52 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased to $112.2 million or $1.54 per diluted share compared to $99.8 million or $1.39 share a year earlier.

Synopsys, Inc. ((SNPS)) decreased 1.6% or 47 cents to $27.50 after the electronic design automation company reported fourth quarter revenues rose 4% to $390.5 million from $375.5 million in the year-ago quarter. Net income in the quarter surged 57% to $39.9 million or 27 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $25.4 million or 17 cents per share in the year-ago period.

Talbots, Inc. ((TLB)) dropped 18.5% or 37 cents to $1.62 after the women''s apparel retailer reported third quarter net sales decreased 6.6% to $279.46 million from $299.1 million. Net loss in the quarter was $22.04 million or 32 cents per diluted share compared to a profit of $17.05 million or 24 cents per share last year.
