ANN INC, ((ANN)) decreased 2.2% or 58 cents to $24.72 after the apparel retailer reported third quarter total net sales increased 5.5% to $564.0 million from $505.3 million in the same quarter last year. Total comparable store sales increased 5.5%. Net income in the quarter increased to $32.3 million or 61 cents per diluted share compared to $24.2 million or 41 cents per share a year ago.

Aruba Networks, Inc. ((ARUN)) advanced 7% or $1.52 to $23.32 after the communications services provider reported first quarter revenue soared 44% to $119.4 million from $83.1 million in the same quarter last year. Net loss in the quarter was $0.5 million or break even per diluted share compared to net income of $2.1 million or 2 cents per share a year ago earlier.

Atwood Oceanics, Inc. ((ATW)) slipped 5% or $2.16 to $40.95 after the offshore drilling company reported fourth quarter revenues grew to $177.6 million from $160.6 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased to $72.9 million or $1.12 per diluted share compared to $64.2 million or $0.99 share a year ago period.

Brady Corporation ((BRC)) increased 5.9% or $1.72 to $30.46 after the security systems and services provider reported first quarter net sales grew 6% to $349.5 million from $329.6 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter soared 24.5% to $32.7 million or 62 cents per diluted share compared to $26.3 million or 50 cents per share a year ago quarter.

Blue Coat Systems, Inc. ((BCSI)) gained 4.3% or 73 cents to $17.64 after the software company’s total net revenue fell to $114.1 million from $121 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter decreased to $4.6 million or 10 cents per diluted share compared to $2.7 million or 6 cents per share a year ago earlier.

Cyberonics, Inc ((CYBX)) fell 0.6% or 18 cents to $29.20 the medical devices maker reported second quarter net sales increased 13% to $53.7 million from $47.5 million in the same quarter last year. Comparable store sales increased 7%. Net income in the quarter declined to $9 million or 32 cents per diluted share compared to $24.9 million or 88 cents per share a year ago quarter.

Dolby Laboratories, Inc. ((DLB)) soared 12.8% or 3.55 to $31.24 after the digital audio, video content provider reported fourth quarter revenues grew to $243.8 million from $227.8 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter rose to $79.1 million or 71 cents per diluted share compared to $65 million or 57 cents share a year ago period.

Foot Locker, Inc ((FL)) increased 2.2% or 50 cents to $22.32 after the athletic footwear and apparel retailer reported third quarter sales grew 8.9% to $1.4 billion from $1.3 billion in the same quarter last year. Comparable store sales increased 7.4%. Net income in the quarter increased to $66 million or 43 cents per diluted share compared to $52 million or 33 cents per share a year ago.

H. J. Heinz Company ((HNZ)) decreased 2.6% or 1.40 to $51.42 after the food products maker reported second quarter sales grew 8.3% to $2.83 billion from $2.61 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter decreased to $237 million or 73 cents per diluted share compared to $251.4 million or 78 cents per share a year ago earlier.

Hibbett Sports, Inc ((HIBB)) rose 1% or 47 cents to $43.61 after the sport goods store reported third quarter net sales increased 10.6% to $185.2 million from $167.4 million in the same quarter last year. Comparable store sales increased 7%. Net income in the quarter soared 26.8% to $16 million or 59 cents per diluted share compared to $12.6 million or 44 cents per share a year ago period.

Intuit Inc. ((INTU)) rose 0.7% or 38 cents to $52.13 after the financial management solution provider reported first quarter net sales increased 12% to $594 million from $532 million in the same quarter last year. Net loss in the quarter narrowed to $64 million or 21 cents per diluted share compared to $70 million or 22 cents per share a year ago earlier.

Kirkland's, Inc. ((KIRK)) decreased 3.2% or 44 cents to $12.97 after the home decor and gift retailer said third quarter net sales rose to $97.1 million from $92.7 million in the same quarter last year. Comparable store sales fell 3.6%. Net income in the quarter fell to $1.2 million or 6 cents per diluted share compared to $2.3 million or 11 cents per share a year ago quarter.

Marvell Technology Group Ltd. ((MRVL)) increased 7% or 97 cents to $17.73 after the fabless semiconductor provider reported third quarter revenue fell 1% to $950.4 million from $959.3 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter decreased to $195.1 million or 32 cents per diluted share compared to $255.7 million or 38 cents per share a year ago earlier.

Motorola Mobility Holdings, Inc ((MMI)) fell 0.4% or 17 cents to $38.77 after the communications equipment provider said stockholder voted overwhelmingly to approve the proposed merger with Google Inc. ((GOOG)).

As previously announced in mid August Motorola Mobility and Google entered into a definitive agreement for Google to acquire Motorola Mobility for $40.00 per share in cash, or a total of approximately $12.5 billion The Company previously disclosed that it expected the merger to close by the end of 2011 or early 2012.

Ross Stores, Inc. ((ROST)) decreased 1.4% or $1.28 to $85.67 after the off-price retailer reported third quarter sales rose 9% to $2.0 billion from $1.9 billion in the same quarter last year. Comparable store sales increased 5%. Net earnings in the quarter increased 19% to $144.0 million or $1.26 per diluted share compared to $121.4 million or $1.02 per share a year ago.

Sirona Dental Systems, Inc. ((SIRO)) slipped 4.4% or $1.91 to $41.54 after the medical equipments maker reported fourth quarter revenues increased 19.6% to $218.8 million from $182.9 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter decreased to $13.8 million or 24 cents per diluted share compared to $24.7 million or 44 cents per share a year ago earlier.

salesforce.com, Inc. ((CRM)) dropped 9.1% or $11.59 to $114.50 after the online services provider said third quarter sales soared 36% to $584 million, from $429 million a year earlier. Net loss in the quarter was $3.76 million or 3 cents per diluted share compared with a profit of $21 million or 15 cents per share a year earlier.

The Gap, Inc. ((GPS)) decreased 2.9% or 57 cents to $18.68 after the specialty retailer reported third quarter net sales fell 2% to $3.59 billion from $3.65 billion in the same quarter last year.

Comparable store sales including the online sales decreased 5%. Net income in the quarter declined to $193 million or 38 cents per diluted share compared to $303 million or 48 cents per share a year ago.
