    Autodesk second quarter net income increased to $71.2 million. Hewlett-Packard third quarter net income rose 9% to $1.9 billion. Intuit reported fourth quarter net loss in the quarter widened 19% to $57 million. Gap second quarter net income decreased 19% to $189 million.

Ann Inc., formrely AnnTaylor Stores Corporation ((ANN)) increased 13.7% or $2.64 to $21.91 after the specialty apparel retailer reported second quarter second quarter total net sales climbed 15.4% to $558.2 million compared with $483.5 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2010. Total comparable sales for the quarter increased 8.6% from a year ago quarter.

Net income increased 33.3% to $24.8 million or 47 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $18.6 million or 31 cents per share last year.

Autodesk, Inc. ((ADSK)) decreased 2.5% or 69 cents to $25.82 after the software and services company reported second quarter revenue increased 16% to $546.3 million from $472.8 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter rose $71.2 million or 30 cents per diluted share compared to $59.9 million or 25 cents per share a year ago.

Aeropostale, Inc. ((ARO)) slumped 11.3% or $1.43 to $11.06 after the casual apparel retailer reported second quarter net sales fell 5% to $468.2 million from $494.7 million in the same quarter last year. Same store sales for the second quarter decreased 14%.

Net income in the quarter fell to $2.9 million or 4 cents per diluted share compared to $43.6 million or 47 cents per share a year earlier.

Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. ((BRCD)) gained 3.7% or 12 cents to $3.44 after the networking equipment supplier reported third quarter revenue flat to $502.8 million from $504.2 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter declined to $1.9 million or break even per diluted share compared to $22.5 million or 5 cents per share a year ago.

Foot Locker, Inc. ((FL)) advanced 4.2% or 78 cents to $18.33 after the athletic footwear and apparel retailer reported second quarter sales increased 16.3% to $1.28 billion from $1.01 million in the same quarter last year. Second quarter comparable store sales increased 11.8%.

Net income in the quarter soared to $37 million or 24 cents per diluted share compared to $6 million or 4 cents per share a year ago quarter.

GameStop Corp. ((GME)) increased 5.6% or $1.20 to $22.63 after the gaming products retailer reported second quarter total sales decreased 3.1% to $1.74 billion from $1.80 million in the same quarter last year. Total company comparable store sales decreased 9.1%.

Net earnings in the quarter slipped to $30.9 million or 22 cents per diluted share compared to $40.3 million or 26 cents per share a year ago quarter.

Hibbett Sports, Inc. ((HIBB)) increased 4.3% or $1.42 to $34.39 after the sporting goods store reported second quarter net sales increased 9.5% to $153.1 million from $139.8 million in the same quarter last year. Comparable store sales increased 5.9%.

Net income in the quarter surged 48% to $5.9 million or 21 cents per diluted share compared to $4.0 million or 14 cents per share a year earlier.

Hewlett-Packard Company ((HPQ)) tumbled 20.6% or $6.10 to $23.41 after the information technology corporation said third quarter net revenue rose 1% to $31.19 billion from $30.73 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter rose 9% to $1.9 billion or 93 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $1.8 billion or 75 cents per share for the year-ago quarter.

Intuit Inc. ((INTU)) soared 11.7% or $4.72 to $45.02 after the software company reported fourth quarter revenues rose 10% to $593 million from $537 in the year-ago quarter. Net loss in the quarter widened 19% to $57 million or 19 cents per diluted share compared to a net loss of $48 million or 15 cents per share in the year-ago quarter.

Marvell Technology Group Ltd. ((MRVL)) increased 11.1% or $1.33 to $13.30 after the Bermuda based fabless semiconductor provider reported second quarter revenue slightly up to $897.5 million from $896.5 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter fell $192.4 million or 31 cents per diluted share compared to $219.8 million or 33 cents per share a year ago.

Nordson Corporation ((NDSN)) fell 0.5% or 21 cents to $41.08 after the testing and inspection equipments maker reported third quarter sales increased 12% to $312.2 million from $279.1 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter rose to $56.5 million or 82 cents per diluted share compared to $55.3 million or 80 cents per share a year earlier.

Salesforce.com, Inc. ((CRM)) increased 1.7% or $1.95 to $116.01 after the cloud computing applications provider reported second quarter sales surged 38% to $546.0 million, from $397.4 million a year earlier. Net loss in the quarter was $4 million or 3 cents per diluted share compared with a profit of $14.7 million or 11 cents per share a year earlier.

The Gap, Inc. ((GPS)) gained 2.7% or 42 cents to $15.94 after the specialty retailer reported second quarter net sales increased 2% to $23.39 billion from $3.32 billion in the same quarter last year. Comparable sales declined 2%.

Net income in the quarter decreased 19% to $189 million or 35 cents per diluted share compared to $234 million or 36 cents per share a year ago.

The Toro Company ((TTC)) gained 3.5% or $1.69 to $48.91 after the turf and agricultural equipments maker reported third quarter net sales increased to $501.0 million from $458.9 million in the same quarter last year. Net earnings in the quarter increased to $35.1 million or $1.11 per diluted share compared to $33.4 million or $1.01 per share a year ago.
