American Tower Corporation ((AMT)) fell 0.8% or 42 cents to $52.08 after the communications infrastructure reported second quarter revenue increased 27.1% to $597.2 million from $469.9 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased to $115.2 million or 29 cents per diluted share compared to $99.6 million or 25 cents per share a year earlier.

Becton, Dickinson and Company ((BDX)) decreased 1.4% or $1.17 to $81.13 after the medical devices maker reported third quarter revenue rose 10% to $2.01 billion from $1.83 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased 11.8% to $343.1 million or $1.53 per diluted share compared to $306.9 million or $1.29 per share in the prior-year quarter.

On July 27, the company signed definitive agreement to acquire a Swedish company Carmel Pharma, AB. The acquisition is expected to close prior to end of this year.

Bridgepoint Education, Inc. ((BPI)) slumped 8.3% or $2.08 to $22.96 after the education service provider said second quarter revenue increased to $239.9 million from $173.8 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased to $52.1 million or 90 cents per diluted share compared to $35.3 million or 58 cents per share a year ago.

Coach, Inc. ((COH)) slipped 5.4% or $3.55 to $61.74 after the leather accessories and products marketer reported fourth quarter sales rose 17% to $1.03 billion from $0.95 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased to $35.2 million or 59 cents per diluted share compared to $21.1 million or 34 cents per share in the prior-year quarter.

FMC Corporation ((FMC)) decreased 4.1% or $3.63 to $84.80 after the chemical company reported second quarter revenue increased 9% to $812.2 million from $776.8 million in the same quarter last year.
