German Producer Prices at 6-Month Low; Italian Orders Improve

German producer prices eased to a 6-month low in June. Iceland jobless rate fell in the second quarter. Italian industrial orders improved in May. Dutch and Danish consumer sentiment declined in July.

German PPI Eases

German producer price inflation slowed in June, to the lowest level in six months, data from the Federal Statistics Office showed today.

Producer prices increased 5.6% from a year ago in June compared to the 6.1% rise in May, driven by a 9.9% annual surge in producer prices of energy.

Iceland Jobless Rate Falls

Iceland''s unemployment rate decreased to 8.5% in the second quarter from 8.7% last year, according to data released by Statistics Iceland today. The unemployed declined by 400 from the year-ago quarter to 15,800 in the second quarter.

Unemployment among youth, aged between 16 and 24 years, was 18.6% during the quarter.

Italian Industrial Orders Up

Italian industrial order rose 4.1% on a seasonally adjusted basis in May, data from the statistics office Istat showed on Wednesday. Domestic orders declined 0.8% than a month ago, and foreign orders climbed 12.2%.

Dutch Sentiment Drops

Dutch consumer confidence declined in July, according to a monthly survey from Statistics Netherlands published today.

The seasonally adjusted consumer confidence index fell to minus 12 in July from minus 11 in June.

Danish Confidence Declines

Danish consumer confidence fell to minus 0.6 in July from 3 in June, data released by Statistics Denmark showed on Wednesday. The latest reading is the lowest since March, when the reading was minus 0.8.
