Euro-zone Inflation Stable at 2.7%; Hungary Industrial Output Rises

    Euro-zone inflation remained stable at 2.7% but Italian inflation rose in June. Dutch retail sales eased and Spanish leading index was flat in May. The economic growth forecast of Finland for fiscal year 2010 was revised up to 3.6%.

Euro-zone Inflation Stable

Euro-zone annual inflation was 2.7% in June, unchanged compared to May, according to final data from Eurostat today. The rate matched the flash estimate.

Consumer prices remained flat on a monthly basis in June.

Inflation in the EU27 eased to 3.1% in June from 3.2% in May. A year ago, the rate was 1.9%. On a monthly basis, prices slid 0.1% in June.

Italian Inflation Rises

Italian consumer price inflation increased to 2.7% in June from 2.6% in May, final data from the statistics office Istat showed on Thursday confirming the initial estimate.

Consumer prices climbed 0.1% on a monthly comparison, in June, the same rate of increase in May.

Dutch Retail Sales Eases

Retail sales in the Netherlands increased 0.5% from a year earlier in May, slower than the 3.2% growth recorded in April, according to data released by the Central Bureau of Statistics today.

Retail sales turnover at food and beverages stores declined 0.7% annually and sales at non-food stores fell 0.9%.

Retail sales, in volume terms, decreased 2.1% in May, reversing the 0.6% fall recorded in April, revised down from 0.9%/

Finland Growth Revised Up

The economic growth of Finland for the year 2010 was revised up to 3.6% from 3.1% by Statistics Finland on Thursday, mainly on intermediate consumption in manufacturing.

Spanish Leading Index Flat

Spain''s leading index remained unchanged at 107.1 in May, after declining 0.2% in April, the Conference Board said on Thursday.

The coincident index fell 0.1% in May, logging the same rate of decline as in April.

Hungary Industrial Output Increases

Hungary''s industrial production increased 7.6% from last year in May, in line with the preliminary estimates, according to final data released by the Central Statistics Office today. The annual growth in production in April was 7.1%.
