    Greif second quarter net income increased to $51 million. Pall third quarter net earnings rose to $71 million. J. M. Smucker fourth quarter net income declined 21% to $94.9 million. Thor Industries third quarter net income rose 17% to $40 mn. Vail Resorts third quarter net income rose 6% to $76 mn.

Verizon Communications Inc. led the decliners with a fall of 0.76%, followed by decline in The Walt Disney Company of 0.74%, in Microsoft Corporation of 0.25%, in McDonald’s Corporation of 0.06%.

AMERCO ((UHAL)) increased 8.4% or $7.28 to $93.61 after the holding company reported fourth quarter revenues increased to $488.4 million from $443.8 million in the same quarter of a year ago. Net earnings in the quarter were $10.2 million or 52 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $8.2 million or 43 cents per share a year earlier.

Greif, Inc. ((GEF)) gained 2.4% or $1.55 to $65.79 after the industrial packaging products maker said second quarter net sales grew 17% to $1,050.7 million from $836.6 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased to $50.9 million or 87 cents per diluted share compared to $42.6 million or 73 cents per share a year ago.

Pall Corporation ((PLL)) rose 0.4% or 21 cents to $53.13 after the purification technology supplier said third quarter sales increased 15.2% to $709.8 million from $616.0 million in the same quarter last year. Net earnings in the quarter increased to $71.1 million or 60 cents per diluted share compared to $69.7 million or 58 cents per share a year ago.

Piedmont Natural Gas Company, Inc. ((PNY)) fell 0.4% or 12 cents to $29.88 after the energy services company reported second quarter revenues decreased 17% to $392.6 million from $472.8 million in the same quarter of a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 1% to $47.4 million or 66 cents per diluted share compared to $46.8 million or 65 cents per share a year earlier.

Spartech Corporation ((SEH)) slumped 15.5% or $1.03 to $5.62 after the engineered thermoplastic processor said second quarter net sales rose 5% to $282.6 million from $268.5 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter declined to $2.6 million or 8 cents per diluted share compared to $4.4 million or 14 cents per share a year ago.

Stewart Enterprises, Inc. ((STEI)) fell 0.5% or 4 cents to $6.79 after the funeral and cemetery product provider said second quarter revenues edged up to $129.7 million from $128.0 million in the same quarter of a year ago. Net earnings in the quarter rose to $1.0 million or 11 cents per diluted share compared to $8.4 million or 9 cents per share a year earlier.

The J. M. Smucker Company ((SJM)) rose 1.9% or $1.48 to $77.87 after the branded food products maker reported fourth quarter net sales increased 11% to $1.2 billion from $1.1 billion in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter declined 21% to $94.9 million or $0.82 per diluted share compared to $120.6 million or $1.01 per share a year ago.

Titan Machinery Inc. ((TITN)) advanced 7.8% or $2.12 to $29.22 after the agricultural and construction equipment dealer said first quarter revenues surged 55% to $318.2 million from $205.5 million in the same quarter of a year ago. Net income in the quarter soared to $7.3 million or 40 cents per diluted share compared to $1.6 million or 9 cents per share a year earlier.

The Men’s Wearhouse, Inc. ((MW)) gained 4% or $1.25 to $31.36 after the specialty retailer reported first quarter total net sales increased 22.6% to $580.4 million from $473.5 million in the same quarter last year. Net earnings in the quarter rose 4.7% to $27.4 million or 52 cents per diluted share compared to $13.6 million or 26 cents per share a year ago.

Thor Industries, Inc. ((THO)) rose 0.2% or 6 cents to $30.26 after the recreation vehicles maker reported third quarter sales soared 25% to $852.0 million from $680.2 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter rose 17% to $40.0 million or 72 cents per diluted share compared to $34.1 million or 66 cents per share a year ago.

Vail Resorts, Inc. ((MTN)) increased 4.9% or $2.13 to $45.54 after the holding company reported third quarter revenues increased 18.3% to $414.5 million from $350.3 million in the same quarter of a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 5.6% to $76.9 million or $2.08 per diluted share compared to $72.8 million or $1.98 per share a year earlier.

Village Super Market, Inc. ((VLGEA)) rose 1% or 27 cents to $25.00 after the grocery retailer reported third quarter sales increased 5.2% to $316.6 million from $301.0 million in the same quarter last year. Same store sales increase of 4.8%. Net income in the quarter fell to $1.7 million or 12 cents per diluted share compared to $5.2 million or 39 cents per share a year ago.
