    Acuity Brands second quarter net income surged to $19.9 million. CarMax fourth quarter net earnings rose 19% to $89.5 million. Cybex reported fourth quarter net loss of $57.1 million. PepsiCo estimates fiscal year 2011 earnings per share growth of 7% to 8% to $4.13 billion in 2010.

Of the stocks in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, Chevron Corporation led the gainers with a rise of 0.98% followed by increase in The Coca-Cola Company of 0.91%, in United Technologies Corporation of 0.90%, in The Travelers Companies, Inc. of 0.81% and in McDonald’s Corporation of 0.70%.

Intel Corporation led the decliners with a fall of 2.30%, followed by decline in The Home Depot, Inc. of 1.54%, in American Express Company of 1.09%, in The Walt Disney Company of 0.83%, in Bank of America Corporation of 0.78%.

Acuity Brands, Inc. ((AYI)) rose 0.9% or 56 cents to $57.46 after the lighting fixtures, control devices and component provider reported second quarter net sales increased 8.5% to $416.1 million from $383.5 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter surged to $19.9 million or 45 cents per diluted share compared to $7.8 million or 17 cents per share in the previous year.

CarMax, Inc. ((KMX)) plunged 7.5% or $2.61 to $31.98 after the retailer of used cars reported fourth quarter revenue surged 23% to $2.25 billion from $1.83 billion a prior year. Comparable store for the quarter used unit sales increased 12%. Net earnings in the quarter increased 19% to $89.5 million or 39 cents per diluted share compared to $75.4 million or 33 cents per share a year ago.

For the full year revenue increased 20.2% to $8.97 billion from $7.47 billion a prior year. Comparable store for the year used unit sales increased 10%. Net earnings in the year soared 35% to $380.9 million or $1.67 per diluted share compared to $281.7 million or $1.26 per diluted share a year ago.

Cybex International, Inc. ((CYBI)) surged 11.2% or 8 cents to 79 cents the cardiovascular fitness equipment maker said fourth quarter revenue rose to $39.9 million from $34.8 million a prior year. Net loss in the quarter was $57.1 million or $3.34 per diluted share compared to net income $993.0 million or $0.06 per share a year ago.

China Yuchai International Limited ((CYD)) gained 3.9% or $1.08 to $28.49 after the Singapore based diesel engine maker said fourth quarter revenue increased 23.6% to RMB 4.0 billion from RMB 3.2 billion a prior year. Net profit in the quarter surged 136.1% to RMB 461.7 million or RMB 12.39 per share compared to RMB 195.6 million or RMB 5.25 per share a year ago.

EnergySolutions, Inc. ((ES)) tumbled 18.5% or $1.27 to $5.56 after the nuclear service provider said fourth quarter revenue edged up to $450.1 million from $448.3 million a prior year. Net income in the quarter declined to $6.3 million or 7 cents per diluted share compared to $22.5 million or 25 cents per share a year ago.

For the full year revenue increased to $1.7 billion from $1.6 billion a prior year. Net loss in the year was $22.0 million or 25 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $50.8 million or 57 cents per diluted share a year ago.

Multiband Corporation ((MBND)) declined 22.9% or $1.37 to $4.60 after the voice, data and video services provider said fourth quarter revenue rose 4% to $70.6 million from $68.0 million a prior year. Net income in the quarter soared to $11.7 million or 73 cents per diluted share compared to $0.3 million or 3 cents per share a year ago.

PepsiCo, Inc. ((PEP)) fell 0.02% or 1 cent to $65.04 after the food and beverage giant reiterated it still estimates fiscal year 2011 earnings per share growth of 7% to 8% from core earnings per share of $4.13 in 2010.

Robbins & Myers, Inc. ((RBN)) advanced 2.7% or $1.28 to $47.08 after the engineering equipment and systems maker reported second quarter sales increased to $215 million from $130 million in the previous year. Net income in the quarter grew to $13.0 million or 32 cents per diluted share compared to $4.2 million or 13 cents per share last year.

Reddy Ice Holdings, Inc. ((FRZ)) slumped 8.4% or 28 cents to $3.02 after the packaged ice maker said fourth quarter revenue rose to $55.3 million from $54.7 million a prior year. Net loss in the quarter widened to $29.0 million or $1.26 per diluted share compared to $2.0 million or $0.09 per share a year ago.

The Mosaic Company ((MOS)) fell 0.3% or 26 cents to $80.19 after the agriculture products maker reported third quarter net sales increased 28% to $2.2 billion from $1.7 billion in the previous year. Net earnings in the quarter soared to $542.1 million or $1.21 per diluted share compared to $222.6 million or $0.50 per share last year.

Worthington Industries, Inc. ((WOR)) gained 3.1% or 64 cents to $21.05 after the diversified metals processing company reported third quarter net sales increased 26% to $569.4 million from $451.1 million in the previous year. Net earnings in the quarter of $26.3 million or 35 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $17.7 million or 22 cents per share last year.
