AnnTaylor fourth quarter net income surged to $7.97 million. Aeropostale quarterly net income declined 13.3% to $83.8 million. Air Methods net income soared 450% to $12.6 million. Pall Corp. second quarter net earnings soared 52.5% to $75.6 million.

The Boeing Company led the decliners with a fall of 1.00%, followed by decline in The Coca-Cola Company of 0.89%, in Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. of 0.89%, in Merck & Co., Inc. of 0.88%, in The Home Depot, Inc. of 0.86%.

American States Water Company ((AWR)) rose 0.06% or 2 cents to $33.26 after the water, electric and contracted service provider reported fourth quarter operating revenues increased 23.1% to $103.7 million from $84.2 million in the same quarter last year. Net income increased to $9.08 million or 48 cents per diluted share compared to $3.40 million or 18 cents per share in the prior year period.

AnnTaylor Stores Corp. ((ANN)) surged 12.3% or $2.99 to $27.20 after the women''s specialty retailer said fourth quarter net sales increased 10% to $515.26 million from $469.14 million in the prior year. Net income in the quarter rose to $7.97 million or 14 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $41,000 or breakeven per share year ago.

For the full year revenue increased to $1.98 billion from $1.83 billion a prior year. Total Company comparable sales for fiscal 2010 increased 10.7%. Net income for the year was $73.4 million or $1.24 per diluted share compared to net loss of $18.2 million or $0.32 per diluted share a year ago.

Aeropostale, Inc. ((ARO)) tumbled 7.6% or $1.94 to $22.69 after the teen apparel retailer said fourth quarter net sales increased 5% to $839.3 million from $801.2 million in the same quarter last year. Same store sales decreased 3% compared to a 9% growth a year ago. Net income in the quarter declined 13.3% to $83.8 million or 95 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $96.6 million or 99 cents per share in the prior-year quarter.

Annual net sales increased 8% to $2.40 billion from $2.23 billion in the year-ago. Same store sales grew 1% over a 10% growth last year. For fiscal year 2010, net income climbed 0.8% to $231.3 million or $2.49 per share compared to $229.5 million or $2.27 per share in the previous year.

Air Methods Corporation ((AIRM)) soared 6.6% or $3.87 to $62.10 after the air medical emergency transport service provider said fourth quarter revenues increased 24% to $150.4 million from $121.3 million in the same quarter last year. Net income soared 450% to $12.6 million or 99 cents per diluted share compared to $2.7 million or 22 cents per share in the prior year period.

For the full year revenue increased 9% to $562.0 million from $514.3 million a prior year. Net income in the year increased 52% to $44.1 million or $3.50 per diluted share from $29.0 million or $2.33 per share in the prior year.

Analogic Corporation ((ALOG)) gained 3.5% or $1.94 to $56.44 after the technology company reported second quarter revenue increased 15% to $117.3 million from $103.8 million in the same quarter last year. Net income surged to $5.3 million or 42 cents per diluted share compared to $2.6 million or 20 cents per share in the prior year period.

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. ((CMTL)) fell 0.7% or 21 cents to $26.53 after the communications solution provider said second quarter net sales decreased to $162.8 million from $171.1 million in the same quarter last year. Net income fell to $16.1 million or 52 cents per diluted share compared to $16.3 million or 51 cents per share in the prior year period.

Emergent BioSolutions Inc. ((EBS)) slumped 3.8% or 87 cents to $21.62 after the biopharmaceutical company said fourth quarter revenues increased 50% to $103.2 million from $53.8 million in the same quarter last year. Net income surged to $26.2 million or 78 cents per diluted share compared to $4.2 million or 14 cents per share in the prior year period.

Hibbett Sports, Inc. ((HIBB)) increased 4.9% or $1.64 to $34.62 after the sporting goods retailer said fourth quarter net sales increased 3.8% to $173.21 million from $166.82 million in the prior year. Net income in the quarter improved 6% to $12.46 million or 44 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $11.75 million or 40 cents per share in the comparable quarter a year ago.

Jones Soda Co. ((JSDA)) tumbled 12.7% or 18 cents to $1.22 after the beverages maker said fourth quarter revenues declined 27% to $3.1 million from $4.3 million in the same quarter last year. Net loss improved 59% to $1.8 million or 6 cents per diluted share compared to $4.5 million or 17 cents per share in the prior year period.

National Semiconductor Corporation ((NSM)) gained 3.3% or 47 cents to $14.63 after the chipmaker said third quarter net sales fell 5% to $343.9 million from $361.9 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter increased 12% to $59.4 million or 24 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $53.2 million or 22 cents per share for the year-ago quarter.

Piedmont Natural Gas Company, Inc. ((PNY)) decreased 1.3% or 40 cents to $29.47 after the reported first quarter revenue fell 3% to $652.0 million from $673.7 million in the same quarter last year. Net income plunged 26% to $84.4 million or $1.16 per diluted share compared to $113.7 million or $1.55 per share in the prior year period.

Net earnings surged 52.5% to $75.6 million or 64 cents per diluted share compared to $49.6 million or 42 cents per share in the prior year period.

Ulta Salon, Cosmetics & Fragrance, Inc. ((ULTA)) surged 7.9% or $3.36 to $45.47 after the beauty retailer reported fourth quarter net sales increased 19.5% to $473.66 million from $396.36 million last year. Net income in the quarter rose 49% to $30.10 million or 49 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $20.23 million or 34 cents per share in the previous year.

Valero Energy Corp ((VLO)) surged 5.8% or $1.55 to $27.87 the energy and petrochemicals company agreed to acquire Chevron''s Pembroke refinery in Wales, U.K. as well as extensive marketing and logistics assets throughout the U.K. and Ireland for $730 million. The company expects to fund from available cash and transaction expected to close in third quarter of 2011.

Zumiez Inc. ((ZUMZ)) declined 2.8% or 81 cents to $27.37 after the mall-based specialty retailer said fourth quarter total sales increased 17.9% to $156.2 million from $132.4 million in the same quarter last year. Net income increased to $15.0 million or 49 cents per diluted share compared to $8.8 million or 29 cents per share in the prior year period.

Total net sales for fiscal 2010 increased 17.5% to $478.8 million compared to $407.6 million from a year ago. Net income in the year increased to $24.2 million or 79 cents per diluted share from $9.1 million or 30 cents per share in the prior year.
