Net income in the quarter increased to $88.2 million or 52 cents per diluted share compared to $109.3 million or 64 cents per share a year ago period.
For the full year revenue increased to $3.90 billion from $3.43 billion a prior year. Net income surged to $411.7 million or $2.42 per diluted share compared to $392.8 million or $2.31 per share a year ago period.
American Tower Corporation ((AMT)) increased 1.1% or 57 cents to $52.42 after the wireless and broadcast tower maker reported fourth quarter revenue increased 22.2% to $547.6 million from $447.9 million in the same quarter last year. Net income in the quarter rose to $83.5 million or 21 cents per diluted share compared to $64.3 million or 16 cents per share in the prior-year quarter.
For the full year revenues increased 15.2% to $1.98 billion from $1.72 billion in the year-ago. For the full-year 2010, net income increased to $372.9 million or 93 cents per share compared to $246.6 million or 62 cents per share in the previous year.
Chico’s FAS, Inc ((CHS)) gained 2.6% or 35 cents to $13.50 after the specialty retailer said fourth quarter net sales rose 9% to $475.0 million from $435.7 million a prior year. Direct-to-consumer sales increased 47%. Net income in the quarter increased 4.4% to $20.7 million or 12 cents per diluted share compared to $17.5 million or 10 cents per share a year ago period.
For the full year net sales increased to $1.90 billion from $1.71 billion a prior year. Net income increased 6.1% to $115.4 million or 64 cents per diluted share compared to $69.6 million or 39 cents per share a year ago period.
Concho Resources Inc. ((CXO)) rose 0.06% or 6 cents to $108.26 after the oil and natural gas company reported fourth quarter revenue surged to $323.2 million from $170.6 million a prior year. Net loss in the quarter was $8.12 million or 8 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $16.9 million or 20 cents per share a year ago period.
For the full year net revenue increased to $972.6 million from $519.6 million a prior year. Net income surged to $204.3 million or $2.18 per diluted share compared to net loss of $9.80 million or $0.12 per share a year ago period.
Continental Resources, Inc. ((CLR)) increased 1.6% or $1.11 to $68.40 the independent crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company reported fourth quarter sales grew 34.3% to $273.1 million from $203.3 million last year. Net loss in the quarter was $45.0 million or 27 cents per diluted share compared with net income of $49.5 million or 29 cents per share for the year-ago quarter.
Sales for the year surged 55.3% to $948.5 million from $610.7 million in fiscal year 2009. For the full year, net income rose 136% to $168.3 million or $0.99 per share from $71.3 million or $0.42 per share for 2009.
Deere & Company ((DE)) gained 2.2% or $1.95 to $90.21 after the farm & construction machinery maker said it aims to almost double its net sales by 2018 with expansion of its global footprint amid continuing strong demand for farm machinery and construction equipments.
Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc ((DTG)) rose 0.6% or 33 cents to $52.90 after the car rental company reported fourth quarter total revenues grew 1.1% to $349.06 million from $345.32 million year ago. Net income improved 9% to $12.49 million from $11.46 million last year. However, on a per share basis, earnings dropped to 41 cents from 42 cents the prior year.
Denbury Resources Inc. ((DNR)) increased 1.6% or 39 cents to $23.95 after the oil and natural gas exploration said fourth quarter revenue soared 92% to $519.0 million from $270.7 million a prior year. Net income in the quarter increased 100% to $10.3 million or 3 cents per diluted share compared to $3.5 million or 1 cent per share a year ago period.
For the full year revenue increased 100% to $1,921 million from $889.1 million a prior year. Net income surged to $271.7 million or 72 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $75.1 million or 30 cents per share a year ago period.
Eaton Vance Corp. ((EV)) rose 0.2% or 8 cents to $31.32 after the investment said first quarter revenue soared 15% to $312.3 million from $272.0 million a prior year. Net income in the quarter declined 19% to $37.5 million or 30 cents per diluted share compared to $50.3 million or 41 cents per share from a year ago.

Flowserve Corporation ((FLS)) soared 4.2% or $5.23 to $128.89 after the engineered flow control system maker said fourth quarter revenue fell 4.9% to $1.14 billion from $1.20 billion a prior year. Net income in the quarter rose to $112.5 million or $2.00 per diluted share compared to $110.4 million or $1.96 per share a year ago period.
For the full year net revenue decreased 7.6% to $4.03 billion from $4.36 billion a prior year. Net income declined to $388.3 million or $6.88 per diluted share compared to $427.9 million or $7.59 per share a year ago period.
Fluor Corporation ((FLR)) rose 0.8% or 56 cents to $68.95 after the engineering and construction company reported fourth quarter revenue declined 4% to $5.27 billion from $5.48 billion in the year-ago period. Net earnings in the quarter fell 21% to $117.1 million or 65 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $148.7 million or 82 cents per share in the year-ago quarter.
General Motors Company ((GM)) declined 3% or $1.07 to $33.52 after the automotive company reported revenue for the fourth quarter of $36.9 billion and net income of $0.5 billion or 31 cents a share.
Revenue for the calendar year was $135.6 billion and net income $4.7 billion or $2.89 per diluted share.
Kohl's Corporation ((KSS)) increased 1.5% or 78 cents to $52.81 after the department store chain stated fourth quarter net sales grew 6.3% to $6.04 billion from $5.68 billion in the prior-year quarter. Comparable store sales for the quarter grew 4.3%. Net income in the quarter climbed 14.4% to $493 million or $1.66 per share compared to net income of $431 million or $1.40 per share last year.
KBR, Inc. ((KBR)) advanced 1% or 34 cents to $32.40 after the engineering construction company reported fourth quarter revenues declined to $2.3 billion from $3.0 billion in the year-ago quarter. Net income in the quarter rose to $78 million or 51 cents per diluted share from $73 million or 45 cents per share in the prior year.
Limited Brands, Inc. ((LTD)) fell 0.5% or 17 cents to $31.60 after the women's apparel and personal care products retailer said fourth quarter net sales increased 13% to $3.46 billion from $3.06 billion in the same quarter last year. Comparable store sales increased 10% over a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 27% to $452.3 million or $1.36 per share compared to net income of $356.1 million or $1.08 per share in the prior-year quarter.
Annual net sales increased 11% to $9.61 billion from $8.63 billion a year ago. The company reported a comparable store sales increase of 9% for the year. For the full year 2010, net income soared 80% to $804.8 million or $2.42 per share from $447.9 million or $1.37 per share in the previous year.
priceline.com Incorporated ((PCLN)) surged 6.7% or $29.84 to $455.83 after the online travel company reported fourth quarter total revenues increased 35% to $731.32 million from $541.75 million last year. Net income in the quarter rose 73% to $135.73 million or $2.66 per share compared to net income of $78.45 million or $1.55 per share in the previous year.
Sears Holdings Corporation ((SHLD)) plunged 5.5% or $4.88 to $82.35 after the major retail conglomerate reported fourth quarter revenues declined 0.8% to $13.14 billion from $13.25 billion in the year-ago quarter. Net income in the quarter fell 13% to $374 million or $3.43 per share from $430 million or $3.74 per share in the prior year.
The TJX Companies, Inc. ((TJX)) increased 1.2% or 62 cents to $49.43 after the off-price retailer reported fourth quarter net sales climbed 7% to $6.33 billion from $5.94 billion in the prior year. Net income in the quarter dropped 15.3% to $334.41 million or 84 cents per diluted share compared with net income of $395 million or 94 cents per share a year ago.
The Washington Post Company ((WPO)) slumped 1.4% or $5.98 to $408.57 after the education and media company said fourth quarter revenue edged up to $1.19 billion from $1.18 billion a prior year. Net income in the quarter fell 3% to $79.0 million or $9.42 per diluted share compared to $81.7 million or $8.71 per share a year ago period.
For the full year net sales increased 8% to $4.72 billion from $4.38 billion a prior year. Net income surged to $277.2 million or $31.04 per diluted share compared to $91.8 million or $9.78 per share a year ago period.
Whiting Petroleum Corporation ((WLL)) gained 2.1% or $1.39 to $64.90 after the independent oil and gas company reported fourth quarter revenues rose 31% to $413.5 million from $316.0 million a year ago. Net income generated in the quarter was $65.9 million or 56 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $11.2 million or 12 cents per share a year earlier.
Transocean Ltd. ((RIG)) tumbled 2.3% or $1.96 to $80.07 after the Switzerland based offshore drilling contractor reported fourth quarter revenue plunged to $2.16 billion from $2.31 billion a prior year. Net loss in the quarter was $799 million or $2.51 per diluted share compared to net income of $723 million or $2.24 per share a year ago period.
For the full year net sales declined to $9.57 billion from $11.55 billion a prior year. Net income slumped to $961 million or $2.99 per diluted share compared to $3,181 million or $9.84 per share a year ago period.
Vornado Realty Trust ((VNO)) decreased 1% or 94 cents to $87.31 the real estate investment trust reported fourth quarter revenue rose to $712.9 million from $706.5 million a prior year. Net income in the quarter was $243.4 million or $1.31 per diluted share compared to net loss of $151.2 million or $0.84 per share a year ago period.
For the full year net sales increased to $2.78 billion from $2.70 billion a prior year. Net income soared to $596.73 million or $3.24 per diluted share compared to $49.09 million or $0.28 per share a year ago period.
