The BSE Sensex surged 1.90% or 372.15 to close at 19,957.59. The CNX Nifty on the National Stock Exchange gained 119.70 to close at 6,010.00.

APL Apollo Tubes Limited soared 5.8% to Rs 151.65 after the tube maker extending gains for the second day as it has completed the acquisition of Lloyds Line Pipe in an all cash deal for Rs 40 crore.

Alstom Projects India Limited increased 2.4% to Rs 703.75 after the engineering company secured a contract worth around Rs 43 crore from EDAC Engineering to supply four 300-megawatt units of seawater flue gas desulfurisation systems for Ratnagiri power plant.

Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited plunged 4.9% to Rs 85.30 after the department of fertilizers has rejected the finance ministry''s recommendation for decontrolling urea prices.

Dr. Reddy''s Laboratories Limited rose 0.3% to Rs 1,760.55 after the pharmaceutical company launched Zafirlukast tablets, a bioequivalent generic version of Accolate, in the United States.

EdServ Softsystems Limited surged 8.6% to Rs 207.30 after the education company said it has completed raising Rs 130 crore for Pan India expansion through issue of equity warrants.

JAI Corp Limited soared 16.4% to Rs 262.15 after the steel, real estate reports the Environment Minister has given environmental clearance to the stalled second airport project in Mumbai and the company holds land bank in the proposed area.

Murli Industries Limited surged 18.4% to Rs 92.75 after the cement and pulp mill clarified that it is in discussion and negotiation with foreign players for its cement assets at Chandrapur, Maharashtra.
