Hindustan Construction decreased 3.1% and received an observation letter for its unit Lavasa Corp’s proposed $400 million public offering.[/R]
The BSE Sensex tumbled 1.73% or 345.20 to close at 19,585.44. The CNX Nifty on the National Stock Exchange declined 108.50 to close at 5,890.30.

APL Apollo Tubes Limited rose 0.8% to Rs 143.80 after the tube maker said it has completed the acquisition of Lloyds Line Pipe, a Maharashtra-based manufacturer in an all cash deal for Rs 40 crore.
Bharti Airtel Limited rose 0.6% to Rs 327.00 and the government panel highlighted irregularities in 2G spectrum allocation.
Coal India Limited rose 0.6% to Rs 331.95.
