India Movers: Gammon, HPCL, Pantaloon, Reliance Capital, Tata Steel

    Stock in Mumbai rose. Gammon India slipped 2.3% after net profit fell 45.5%. HPCL rose 2.5%. Pantaloon decreased 3.3% net profit declined 60%. Reliance Capital declined 3% after net profit plunged 28%. Tata Steel rose after it swung to net profit.

The BSE Sensex rose 0.76% or 152.80 to close at 20,309.69. The CNX Nifty on the National Stock Exchange gained 49.95 to close at 6,121.60.

Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Limited plunged 1.1% to Rs 177.90 after the building construction company said second quarter net profit dropped 12.15% to Rs 20.11 crore.

Balrampur Chini Mills Limited declined 3% to Rs 86.40 after the power, sugar, distillery reported fourth quarter net loss of Rs 78.34 crore compared to net profit of Rs 42.73 crore for a year ago.

City Union Bank Limited gained 3.8% to Rs 49.95 after the bank said second quarter net profit rose 34.60% to Rs 61.58 crore.

DCM Shriram Industries Limited decreased 2.3% to Rs 82.45 after the conglomerate reported second quarter net loss of Rs 1.37 crore compared to net profit of Rs 21.34 crore for a year ago.

Gammon India Limited slipped 2.3% to Rs 186.35 after the engineering contractor said second quarter net profit fell 45.5% to Rs 24.01 crore.

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited rose 2.5% to Rs 464.25 after the oil refiner reported second quarter net profit of Rs 2,089.61 crore compared to net loss of Rs 136.68 crore for a year ago.

Hindustan Copper Limited slumped 8.1% to Rs 374.20 after the refined copper maker indicated public offering is likely to be priced at Rs 200 per share.

HMT Limited surged 6.2% to Rs 77.00 after the tractor and food processing machine maker reports the government will provide Rs 127 crore to revive the state-run firm.

Ispat Industries Limited declined 4.6% to Rs 19.35 after the importer and exporter of steel, textiles reported net loss for the quarter ended September widened to Rs 331.62 crore from Rs 79.41 crore for a year ago.

IVRCL Assets & Holdings Limited plunged 4.7% to Rs 100.35 after the special purpose vehicle maker reported second quarter net loss rose to Rs 15.11 crore compared to Rs 6.10 crore from a year ago.

IVRCL Infrastructures & Projects Limited fell 2.8% to Rs 135.45 after the engineering construction company said second quarter net profit dropped 51.4% to Rs 23.28 crore.

Koutons Retail India Limited declined 4% to Rs 89.70 after the textile, accessories and shoes maker reported second quarter net profit tumbled 90.42% to Rs 2.26 crore.

Pantaloon Retail (India) Limited decreased 3.3% to Rs 435.50 after the consumer goods retailer said first quarter net profit declined 59.90% to Rs 17.58 crore.

Reliance Capital Limited declined 3% to Rs 760.15 after the financial investment service provider reported second quarter consolidated net profit plunged 28.14% to Rs 111.97 crore.

Reliance Communications Limited fell 1.1% to Rs 168.05 after the telecommunication provider said second quarter consolidated net profit slumped 39.8% to Rs 445.92 crore.

Shree Renuka Sugars Limited increased 2.8% to Rs 93.90 after the sugar, bio-fuels and renewable energy maker reported fourth quarter consolidated net profit rose 15.51% to Rs 116.90 crore.

State Bank of India soared 4.4% to Rs 3,164.15 after the bank is eyeing acquisition of a bank in Indonesia in all cash deal not exceeding $100 million to expand its operations in Southeast Asia.

Sterling Biotech Limited slipped 2.6% to Rs 107.30 after the pharmaceutical company said third quarter net profit declined 25.30% to Rs 30.63 crore.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. fell 0.3% to Rs 2,310.40 after the specialty pharmaceutical industry fixed 26 November record date for a 5-for-1 stock split.

The India Cements Limited rose 0.2% to Rs 116.60 after the cement maker reported second quarter net loss of Rs 33.63 crore compared to net profit of Rs 136.94 crore for a year ago.

Tata Steel Limited gained 1.7% to Rs 617.15 after the steel producer reported second quarter consolidated net profit of Rs 1,978.81 crore compared to net loss of Rs 2,707.25 crore for a year ago.

Unitech Limited decreased 2.4% to Rs 79.45 after the real estate developer said second quarter consolidated net profit declined 2.3% to Rs 173.76 crore.
