The BSE Sensex gained 1.95% or 388.43 to close at 20,260.58. The CNX Nifty on the National Stock Exchange gained 119.40 to close at 6,101.50.

Ashok Leyland Limited rose 0.8% to Rs 76.15 after the commercial vehicle maker said second quarter net profit soared 88.5% to Rs 167.06 crore.

Alstom Projects India Limited declined 3.2% to Rs 795.00 after the engineering company reported second quarter net profit plunged 24.3% to Rs 37.04 crore.

ACC Limited increased 1.4% to Rs 982.90 after the cement manufacture said second quarter consolidated net profit plunged 79.2% to Rs 86.31 crore.

Allahabad Bank surged 4.6% to Rs 241.95 after the bank reported second quarter net profit rose 20.68% to Rs 402.56 crore.

BASF India Limitd gained 1.7% to Rs 683.60 after the agricultural solution, plastics, and chemical company reported net profit surged 34.19% to Rs 45.65 crore.

Corporation Bank gained 3% to Rs 730.20 after the banking company said second quarter net profit rose 20.59% to Rs 351.73 crore.

Gayatri Projects Limited rose 0.6% to Rs 402.30 after the construction firm secured an order worth Rs 43.45 crore from FL Smidth for construction of iron ore crushing plant at Bellary district in the state of Karnataka.

Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited surged 9.9% to Rs 369.50 after the fertilizer and industrial product maker said net profit soared 168.25% to Rs 207.01 crore.

Indiabulls Financial Services Limited soared 6.7% to Rs 189.55 after the investment company reported second quarter consolidated net profit surged 142.79% to Rs 172.67 crore.

Info Edge (India) Ltd increased 3.5% to Rs 645.00 after the online classified company said second quarter net profit rose 21.38% to Rs 17.88 crore.

Marsons Limited surged 19.7% to Rs 23.00 after the power transformer maker reported second quarter net profit soared 238.8% to Rs 2.88 crore.

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited gained 1.3% to Rs 105.65 after the bulk power transmission company said net profit surged 41.6% to Rs 651.40 crore.

Rane (Madras) Limited surged 19.9% to Rs 183.95 after the automobile component maker reported net profit spurted 134.7% to Rs 7.77 crore.

Shiva Cement Limited soared 9.2% to Rs 10.97 after the cement and allied product maker said board will consider issue of bonus shares on October 30 when earnings are scheduled to be released.

Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd. increased 3.7% to Rs 96.20 after the company reported second quarter net profit of Rs 8.82 crore in compared to net loss of Rs 7.49 crore a year ago.

TVS Motor Company Limited gained 1.5% to Rs 75.25 after the automotive company said second quarter net profit rose 123.14% to Rs 54.78 crore.

Tecpro Systems Limited surged 5.2% to Rs 399.95 after the engineering company secured an engineering project order worth Rs 71 crore from Engineers Projects (India) for Bhilai steel plant.
