U.S. stocks traded lower after unemployment in July was nearly unchanged. Activision Blizzard dropped after it estimated lower revenues. American Public Education plunged more than 28% after it canceled its annual outlook. Blue Nile dropped after net declined.

51Jobs Inc ((JOBS)) fell 2.3% or 53 cent to $25.47 after the job placement company in China said second quarter sales increased 35.7% to $38.7 million, nearly 35% from a year ago quarter. Revenues increased to Rmb 260 million from Rmb193 million a year ago quarter.
Net earnings increased to Rmb 54.3 million from Rms 20.7 million a year ago. Earnings per share increased to Rmb 0.99 from Rmb 0.337 a year ago. Earnings in the US dollars in the quarter were $8.01 million or 15 cents a share.
Activision Blizzard Inc ((ATVI)) decreased 5.3% or 63 cent to $11.12 after the computer game developer estimated $725 million revenues in the current quarter, lower than estimated.
American International Group Inc ((AIG)) surged 3.7% or $1.60 to $41.50 after the insurer reported second-quarter total revenues declined 16.5% to $19.982 billion from $23.922 billion in the prior-year quarter. Net loss in the quarter was $2.7 billion or $3.96 a share, compared to net income of $1.8 billion or $2.30 a share in the year-ago quarter. The company stated the loss was primarily due to a $3.3 billion non-cash goodwill impairment charge.
American Public Education, Inc ((APEI)) declined 27.4% or $11.72 to $30.95 after the military school canceled its 2010 annual estimate and also said it will no longer offer outlook. The company also said it will purchase $20 million of its stock. Revenues in the quarter increased 30% to $46.3 million. Net income increased 32% to $7 million.
ATP Oil & Gas Corporation ((ATPG)) fell 10.1% or $1.35 to $11.90 after the Gulf of Mexico oil well energy explorer said revenues increased $101million from $80 million a year ago and net loss of $76 million compared to net loss of $106,000. Earnings per share were a loss of 1.63 compared to 12 cents a year ago.
Blue Nile, Inc ((NILE)) decreased 5.9% or $2.94 to $44.70 after the online diamond ring seller said second quarter sales increased 9.7% to $76.6 million from $69.85 million a year ago quarter. Net income decreased to $2.80 million from $2.88 million a year ago and earnings per share were flat at 19 cents.
CBOE Holdings Inc ((CBOE)) fell 3.3% or 82 cent to $23.98 after the exchange operator said second quarter revenues increased to $112.6 million from $108.9 million and net income decreased to $24.8 million from $28.1 million a year ago. Earnings per share decreased to 27 cents from 31 cents a year ago.
Church & Dwight Co., Inc ((CHD)) decreased 1.2% or 75 cent to $61.60 after the maker of consumer products said second quarter sales increased to $640.8 million from $623 million a year ago and net income increased to $42 million from $36.8 million. Earnings per share increased to $1.05 from 83 cents in the prior year period.
Foster Wheeler AG ((FWLT)) rose 0.5% or 12 cent to $22.86 after the engineering contractor said second quarter sales decreased to $1 billion from $1.3 billion in the quarter a year ago and net income to $58.8 million from $122 million. Earnings per share dropped to 46 cents from 97 cents in the quarter a year ago.
Hyatt Hotels Corp ((H)) gained 0.6% or 25 cent to $39.23 after the luxury hotels operator reported second quarter net income declined to $25 million from $50 million a year ago and earnings per share dropped to 14 cents from 34 cents. Net revenues increased to $889 million from $847 million in the quarter a year ago.
Kraft Foods ((KFT)) rose 2.8% or 84 cent to $30.52 after the food maker reported second quarter sales increase of 25.3% to $12.3 billion from $18.76 billion a year ago and earnings increased 89.9% to $2.8 billion from $1.49 billion in the period. Earnings per share increased 66% to $1.68 from $1.01.
Marchex, Inc ((MCHX)) surged 11.1% or 52 cent $5.10 after the online advertiser and portal operator said second quarter was flat at $21.4 million and net loss in the quarter was $3.2 million compared to $1.2 million a year ago quarter. Net loss per share was 10 cents compared to 4 cents a year ago.
Orbitz Worldwide Inc ((OWW)) fell 1.2% or 7 cent to $5.49 after the online travel agency operator said revenues in the second quarter increased 3% to $193.5 million from $187.85 million from a year ago and net income declined 5% to $9.73 million from $10.27 million. Earnings per share decreased to 10 cents from 12 cents.
PerkinElmer, Inc ((PKI)) surged 9.9% or $2.05 to $22.10 after the drug research and labs equipment maker reported second quarter revenues of $300.4 million compared to $253.4 million a year ago and operating income of $24.8 million from $22.8 million. The company also lifted its annual operating earnings per share between $1.29 and $1.34 from $1.08 to $1.13.
ResMed Inc ((RMD)) declined 5.3% or $3.62 to $64.41 after sleeping disorder treatment and respiratory disorder maker said quarterly sales increased to $291.5 million from $251.9 million a year ago. Net income increased to $53.1 million from $545.3 million and net income per share increased to 70 cents from 60 cents.
Rosetta Stone Inc ((RST)) plunged 9.3% or $2.02 to $19.50 after the language courses provider said second quarter revenues increased 7% to $60.6 million from $56.5 million and net income of $3.7 million from a loss of $7.3 million. Earnings per share were 17 cents compared to a loss of 42 cents.
Sunrise Senior Living ((SRZ)) fell 3.1% or 10 cent $3.05 after the assisted living facilities operator said second quarter revenues declined to $349 million from $359.67 million a year ago and net income in the quarter of $46 million compared to $81.6 million loss in the prior year ago period.
Teradata ((TDC)) fell 0.8% or 27 cent $32.41 after the data storage services provider reported second quarter revenues increased 12% to $470 million from $421 million a year ago and net income increased to $74 million from $62 million and earnings per share increased to 44 cents from 36 cents.
Tidewater ((TDW)) decreased 2.0% or 84 cent $39.82 after the marine services provider reported fiscal first quarter revenues decreased to $262.5 million compared to $326 million and net income declined $39.8 million from 444.4 million in the quarter a year ago. Net income per share declined to 78 cents from 87 cents a year ago quarter. The company declared 25 cents a share in the quarter, same as the quarter a year ago.
Treehouse Foods, Inc ((THS)) rose 1.4% or 58 cent $42.83 after the specialty food maker said second quarter sales increased to $446 million from $372 million a year ago and net income increased to $21.6 million from $18.4 million. Earnings per share increased to 60 cents from 58 cents a year ago period.
Weight Watchers International, Inc ((WTW)) increased 4.5% or $1.24 to $28.84 after the diet food and services provider said second quarter sales was nearly flat at $764.7 million and net income declined to $100 million from $106.1 million a year ago quarter. Earnings per share declined to $1.31 from $1.38 a year ago.
Western Refining, Inc ((WNR)) fell 3% or 16 cent to $5.00 after the crude oil refiner said second quarter sales increased to $2.1 billion from $1.6 billion a year ago and net income was $14.3 million compared to a loss of $307 million. Earnings per share were 16 cents compared to a loss of $4.20.
