International Game Technology led the decliners in the S&P 500 index with a loss of 4.8% followed by losses in National Semiconductor Corporation of 3.1% and in AutoNation, Inc. of 3.0%, in Lowe’s Companies, Inc. of 2.7% and in Devon Energy Corporation of 2.6%.
Sunoco, Inc. led gainers in the S&P 500 index with a rise of 6.3% followed by gains in Priceline.com Incorporated of 4.7%, in DeVry Inc. of 3.2% and in Apollo Group, Inc. of 3.1%.

Allergan, Inc. ((AGN)), the multi-specialty healthcare company fell 0.4% or 30 cents to $61.
American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. ((AXL)) added 3.5% or 34 cents to $9.80 after the company was upgraded to “buy” from “neutral” at Bank of America Corp.
Clarcor Inc. ((CLC)) climbed 8.2% or $3.01 to $39.46 after the filter and packaging producer said second quarter sales rose 12.4% to $257.9 million from $229.4 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 42.3% to $23.9 million or 47 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $16.8 million or 33 cents per share a year ago.
Curis, Inc. ((CRIS)), the drug development company plunged 37.4% or $1.22 to $2.04.
Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. ((CCE)), the soft-drink bottler rose 0.9% to Rs 26.51.
FedEx Corporation ((FDX)) fell 2.3% or $2.04 to $80.86. The transportation, e-commerce and business services provider reported fourth quarter revenues rose 20% to $9.43 billion from $7.85 billion a year ago. Net income in the quarter was $419.0 million or $1.33 per diluted share compared to net loss of $876.0 million or $2.82 per share a year ago.
Genoptix, Inc. ((GXDX)), the medical laboratory plunged 17.5% or $4.01 to $18.87.
HealthTronics, Inc. ((HTRN)) fell 0.6% or 3 cents to $4.77 after the provider of urologic services and devices announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Endocare, Inc., has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for Endocare''s Cryocare CS® Surgical System, including Endocare''s variable cryoprobe, known as the V-Probe®.
Immunomedics, Inc. ((IMMU)) added 3.2% or 11 cents to $3.55 after the developer of medicines for cancer and autoimmune diseases announced today that its experimental lupus drug epratuzumab has shown positive results in a mid-stage trial.
Neurocrine Biosciences, Inc. ((NBIX)) surged 14.0% or 65 cents to $5.35 after the drug company announced today that the company will host a conference call to report on the global agreement with Abbott for the exclusive worldwide development and commercialization of elagolix and the next-generation GnRH antagonists.
PDL BioPharma, Inc. ((PDLI)), the developer of antibodies used in cancer treatment increased 4.2% or 23 cents to $5.60.
Somanetics Corporation ((SMTS)) surged 31.3% or $5.94 to $24.84 after the maker of cardiac surgery equipment will be acquired by Covidien Plc for $25 a share in cash or $250 million.
Sunoco, Inc. ((SUN)) gained 6.2% or $2.07 to $34.31 after the refinery today announced that its Board of Directors has authorized a plan to separate SunCoke Energy from the remainder of Sunoco as part of a strategy designed to unlock shareholder value.
