BMC Software, Inc. ((BMC)) fell 3.4% or $1.33 to $36.75. The business software maker said fourth quarter revenues rose 2.5% to $491.3 million from $479.3 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 42.6% to $118.8 million or 64 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $83.3 million or 44 cents per share a year ago.
Career Education Corporation ((CECO)) fell 1.0% or 30 cents to $29.70. The education company said first quarter revenues rose 22.4% to $529.7 million from $432.9 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 137% to $55.2 million or 66 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $23.3 million or 26 cents per share a year ago.
CBS Corporation ((CBS)) declined 3.0% or 48 cents to $15.10. The broadcasting company said first quarter sales rose 12% to $3.53 billion from $3.16 billion a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $26.2 million or 4 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $55.3 million or 8 cents per share a year ago.
Cigna Corporation ((CI)) added 2.5% or 80 cents to $32.80 after the health insurer reported first quarter sales rose 9% to $5.21 billion from $4.77 billion a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 36% to $283 million or $1.02 per diluted share compared to net income of $208 million or 76 cents per share a year ago.
Clearwire Corporation ((CLWR)) added 5.8% or 44 cents to $8.00 after the operator of mobile broadband networks said first quarter sales rose 72% to $106.7 million from $62.1 million a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $94.1 million or 48 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $71.1 million or 38 cents per share a year ago.
Copa Holdings, S.A. ((CPA)) rose 0.2% or 13 cents to $54.93 after the airline said first quarter revenues rose 8.5% to $335.2 million from $308.8 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter fell 48.7% to $36.7 million or 84 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $71.6 million or $1.63 per share a year ago.

Net loss in the quarter was $20.3 million or 40 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $13.1 million or 33 cents per share a year ago.
Denbury Resources Inc. ((DNR)) fell 0.06% or 1 cent to $18.00. The oil and gas developer reported first quarter sales rose 152.5% to $438.8 million from $173.8 million a year ago. Murphy Oil Corporation ((MUR)) decreased 3.3% or $1.93 to $56.38. The oil company said first quarter revenues rose 50% to $5.18 billion from $3.45 billion a year ago. Symantec Corporation ((SYMC)) added 5.0% or 82 cents to $17.07 after the maker of the Norton antivirus software said fourth quarter revenues rose 4% to $1.53 billion from $1.47 billion a year ago. Net income in the quarter was $184 million or 23 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $264 million or 32 cents per share a year ago.
Teradata Corporation ((TDC)) fell 1.4% or 42 cents to $28.87. The provider of data warehousing and enterprise analytics reported first quarter revenues rose 17% to $429 million from $367 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 49% to $67 million or 39 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $45 million or 26 cents per share a year ago.
Titanium Metals Corporation ((TIE)) added 1.8% or 26 cents to $14.70 after the supplier of the lightweight metal said net sales were $217.5 million for the first quarter of 2010 compared to net sales of $203.4 million for the first quarter of 2009.
