- Shopify Inc. eased 0.1% to $123.45 after the Canada-based e-commerce company posted a 31% revenue growth in the fourth quarter ending in December.
Revenue increased to $2.81 billion from $2.14 billion, non-GAAP net income jumped to $1.29 billion from $657 million, and non-GAAP earnings per diluted share rose to 44 cents from 34 cents a year ago.
For fiscal 2025, the company estimated revenue growth at a mid-20% rate, compared to $8.88 billion in 2024, operating expense as a percentage of revenue between 41% and 42%, and stock-based compensation of $120 million.
Gross profit is expected to increase at a low-20% point from $4.47 billion a year ago, and compared to $3.51 billion in 2023.
Feb 12, 2025 - Shopify Inc decreased 4.7% to $59.28 after the online shopping platform for sellers reported higher sales and gross merchandise volume but quarterly loss expanded.
Revenue in the second quarter increased 31% to $1.7 billion from $1.3 billion and net loss rose to $1.3 billion from $1.2 billion and diluted loss per share expanded to $1.02 from 95 cents a year ago.
Gross merchandise volume rose 17% to $55 billion from a year ago and gross payment volume rose to $31.7 billion, which increased to 58% of GMV from 53% in the second quarter a year ago.
Aug 3, 2023 - Shopify said revenue in the fourth quarter increased 25.3% to $1.7 billion and net loss increased to $672 million from $371 million and diluted loss per share rose to 49 cents from 30 cents a year ago. In 2022, revenue increased to $5.6 billion and the online e-commerce platform swung to a net loss of $3.5 billion from a profit of $2.9 billion or ($2.73) from $2.29 a share a year ago.
