- McDonald’s Corp. jumped 2.5% to $306.11 after the fast-food restaurant chain reported a muted increase in sales and earnings in the latest quarter.
Revenue increased to $6.8 billion from $6.4 billion, net income inched higher to $2.2 billion from $2 billion, and diluted earnings per share rose to $3.14 from $2.80 a year ago.
For the six-month period, revenue advanced to $12.8 billion from $12.6 billion, net income edged up to $4.1 billion from $4 billion, and diluted earnings per share inched higher to $5.74 from $5.46 a year ago.
The company reported a 3.8% annual increase in global comparable sales, supported by a 2.5% growth in U.S. comparable sales during the same period.

Revenue declined to $5.96 billion from $6.17 billion, net income edged down to $1.87 billion from $1.93 billion, and diluted earnings per share fell to $2.60 from $2.66 a year ago.
Global comparable sales decreased 1%, impacted by the 3.6% lower comparable sales in the U.S.
May 2, 2025 - McDonald’s Corp. surged 2.8% to $302.46 despite the fast food chain reporting a 1.4% drop in comparable store sales in the U.S. during the fourth quarter ending in December.
Revenue declined to $6.39 billion from $6.41 billion, net income dropped to $2.02 billion from $2.04 billion a year ago, and earnings per diluted share were flat at $2.80.
The fast food operator said traffic was slightly higher than usual at U.S. locations, but high prices kept consumers spending less.
In the fourth quarter, global comparable sales increased 0.4%, same-store sales at U.S. locations declined 1.4%, and international markets increased 0.1%.
The company’s board proposed a quarterly cash dividend of $1.77 per share, payable on March 17 to holders of record on March 3.
In the first half of 2024, McDonald’s introduced a $5 value meal and extended the bargain offering until December.
However, the company had to go through and settle an FDA investigation into its raw yellow onions, which caused E. coli among customers.
Feb 10, 2025 - McDonald's increased 0.7% to $299.07 after the fast food chain reported better-than-expected quarterly results.
Consolidated revenue in the third quarter increased 3% to $6.9 billion from $6.7 billion, net income fell 3% to $2.25 billion from $2.32 billion, and earnings per share fell 1% to $3.13 from $3.17 a year ago.
Global comparable sales declined 1.5% in the quarter, but sales in the U.S. rose 0.5%.
However, the latest E. coli outbreak in 13 states linked to the company's Quarter Pounder burger is likely to dent sales in the current quarter.
Oct 29, 2024 - McDonald's Corp. decreased 2.7% to $299.0 after the company ruled out the outbreak of E. coli linked to the company's Quarter Pounders. The company said it plans to resume selling quarter pounders at impacted restaurants as early as this week.
