The homebuilder offered weak annual revenue and unit home sale outlook as buyers struggle with affordability issues.
The company estimated fiscal year 2025 revenue between $36 billion and $37.5 billion, home completions between 90,000 and 92,000 units, stock repurchase of $2.4 billion, and dividend payment of $500 million.

DR Horton gained 2.2% to $125.97, Lennar jumped 0.6% to $124.61 and NVR gained 1.7% to $6,262.79 after the diversified conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway took stakes in home builders.
According to a regulatory filing with the SEC, Berkshire acquired a $726 million stake in DR Horton, $70 million in NVR and $17.2 million in Lennar.

Revenue in the fiscal third quarter increased to $9.7 billion from $8.8 billion but net income declined to $1.4 billion from $1.7 billion and diluted earnings per share fell to $3.93 from $4.70 a year ago.
Home sales in the quarter increased 8% to 22,985 units and 4% to $8.7 billion and net orders increased 37% to 22,879 and 26% to $8.7 billion.
Despite the rising mortgage rates, new home sales continued to advance amid tight home supply availability as demand outstrips supply in suburban areas in the South and in the West.
Cancelation rate declined to 18% in the quarter from 24% in the prior year quarter.
In the quarter, the company repurchased 3.1 million shares for $342.9 million.
At the end of the quarter, the company had 43,800 homes in inventory, of which 5,700 homes were completed.

Net sales orders for the fiscal second quarter fell 5% to 23,142 homes and 11% in value to $8.6 billion compared to 24,340 homes and $9.7 billion in the same quarter a year ago.
The home builder guided full-year 2023 revenue in a range from $31.5 billion to $33.0 billion and estimated home sales between 77,000 and 80,000 units.
