Jul 11, 2024 - Costco Wholesale Corp decreased 1.7% to 543.49 after the membership warehouse retailer reported better-than-expected quarterly results.
Net sales in the fourth quarter ending in September increased 9.4% to $77.43 billion from $70.76 billion a year ago.
Comparable companywide sales, adjusted for gasoline prices and foreign exchange, increased 3.8% and the U.S. sales rose 3.1% from a year ago.
Net income in the quarter increased to $2.16 billion from $1.868 billion and diluted earnings per share rose to $4.86 from $4.20 a year earlier.
Sep 27, 2023 - Costco Wholesale Corporation declined 0.3% to $485.31 after the retailer reported mixed quarterly results.
Net sales in the fiscal third quarter ending in May increased 1.9% to $52.6 billion from $51.6 billion and comparable sales at the U.S. stores excluding gasoline sales increased 1.8%.
Total comparable sales across all regions, excluding gasoline sales, increased 3.5% and e-commerce sales declined 9.0%.
Net income attributable to shareholders decreased to $1.3 billion from $1.35 billion and diluted earnings per share fell to $2.93 from $3.04 a year ago.
May 26, 2023 - Costco Wholesale said revenue in the fiscal second quarter ending on February 12 increased to $55.2 billion from $51.9 billion and net income increased to $1.5 billion from $1.3 billion and diluted earnings per share rose to $3.30 from $2.92 a year ago.
Comparable store sales at U.S. locations excluding gasoline increased 3.5% and adjusted for calendar shift rose 3.4% and overall comparable sales rose 3.5% and 5.0% respectively.
E-commerce sales in the quarter declined 11.2% and dropped 10.3% in the calendar adjusted period.
Mar 2, 2023 - Costco Wholesale said fiscal first quarter sales increased 8.1% to $53.4 billion and net income increased to $1.36 billion from $1.32 billion or $3.07 from $2.98 a diluted share a year ago.
